4 parking brake, turn engine off and remove key before dismounting. • Disengage the PTO, stop the engi ne and wait until the tiller comes to a complete stop before making any repairs, adjustments, or removing any rocks or debris. • Use extra caution when loading or unloading the machine into a trailer or truck.
5 • Never remove gas cap or add fuel while the engine is hot or running. Allow engi ne to cool at least two minutes before refueling. • Never over fill fuel tank. Fill tank to no more than ½ inch below bottom of filler neck to provide space for fuel expansion.

8 To co nnect the hyd raulic hoses to t he hydr aulic pump assembl y: • Loca te both male hy draulic fittin gs on the hydr aulic pump. Notic e that the fit tings are not the s ame diameter .
9 SECTION 6: PREPARING THE TRACTOR NOTE: References to LE FT and RIG HT indic ate the lef t and right sides of the tractor and ti ller attac hment when facing forw ard in the op erator’s po sition. NOTE: If the tr actor is equipped with a mower deck, remove i t now.
10 IMPORT ANT : I f working on or with the batter y for any reason, disconn ect the NEG A TIVE ( Black) wire fro m it ’ s ter minal fir st, f o llowed b y the POSITIVE (Red) wire.
11 • To mark the hole to ens ure proper centerin g of the new h ole to be dr illed, place the po inted end o f a cente r punch on the cross ha irs of new hol e position . Using a h ammer, s trike th e end of th e cente r punch to cr eate a perm anent mark in the metal fram e and carefu lly remo ve the tem plate.
12 SECTION 7: MOUNTING THE TILLER Installing the Attachment Hitch The attac hment hitc h, which ha s the elec tric li ft cylind er attached to i t, attaches to the re ar of the tractor ’ s fr ame over the hitc h plate.
13 Attaching the Hydraulic Pump Assembly To m ount t he hydr auli c pump assem bly to t he tr actor , make certai n that it is pla ced unde r the center of the tractor ’ s fr ame, rest ing on th e ground, wi th the hydr aulic hos es att ached.
14 SECTION 8: KNOW THE TILLER Fig ure 14 Lift Switch The lif t switch is loca ted on t he right side of the stee ring wheel on the das h panel and i s used to raise and lower the till er atta chment and al so t o dete rmine t he de pth at which the tin es dig into the gr ound.
15 R is the rev erse tillin g posit ion. The tin e direct ion lev er is push ed towar d the bac k of the m achin e, or aw ay from the o perator to start the t ines in the rever se direc tion. Tines spinni ng in a rev erse direction are used for breaking gr ound or til ling hard soi l.

17 For shall ow tilling, drop the rol ler to its lo west posit ion by putting th e locking rod into the hi ghest hole of the adjustme nt bar. For dee per tilling, c ontinu e to raise the roller by us ing lo wer holes in the adjustm ent bar . The lowest h ole ( highest settin g) is us ed for t ranspor ting the tiller.
18 If the obje ct does not di slodge us ing this method and the tines co ntinue to not spin: • Shut off the P TO immed iately, s hift the tine directi on lev er to neutra l (N), raise t he ti ller to its highest po sitio n, and turn the trac tor engin e off.
19 Wit h the new fil ter i n place , remo ve all t ools us ed to change the fi lter from the tiller : • Start the tiller in mo tion for abo ut one minute in order to circ ulate the oil through the new filter .
20 Replace on ly one tine at a ti me. This will help to insu re the cor rect pos itioning of the tines a s they are m ounted on the tine ass embly. When installi ng the new tine, be certain that the lon ger shoul der bolt is in the inner hole toward the c enter of the tin e assembly.
21 SECTION 11: STORAGE NOTE: Before removing t he tiller a ttachm ent for storage , perform all lubr icatio n maint enance as outlined in th e Mainte nance sectio n.
