6 USING THE 1 - WAY REMOTE The transmitter supplied wit h the CoolStart system contains four buttons , flashlight, and vehicle 2 switch. The button configuration of the CoolStart system is Factory - set and unchangeable. See Page 1 6 for additional information on how to use your remote to operate a second vehicle equipped with a CoolStart system.
7 USING THE 1 - WAY REMOTE RS - 1905FM START LOCK UNLOCK REMOTE #4 #3 #2 #1 2ND VEHICLE TRUNK (AUX#3) (AUX#2) (AUX#4) STARTER #5 COOL START The transmitter supplied with the RS - 1804FM/1905FM system has five buttons. The button configuration of the RS - 1804FM/1905FM is Factory - set and unchangeable.
8 REMOTE ENGINE STARTING REMOTE ENGINE STARTING - SUCCESSFUL START: 1) Press the remote start button for at least 1/2 second (Default) or twice if set for double press . 2) Parking lights flash once; return sol id, and the Ignition/Acc circuits turn on.
9 REMOTE ENGINE STARTING Cont. ENTERING YOUR REMOTE STARTED VEHICLE: 1) With engine running, Remote Unlock system (If equipped) or open door with key. 2) Enter vehicle and be careful not to step on brak e pedal! (Remote Start Reset) . 3) Turn Ignition to ON/RUN position, then press brake pedal to reset the Remote Starter & Shift out of park.
10 REMOTE ENGINE STARTING IDLE DOWN MODE - EXITING THE VEHICLE: 1) With v ehicle engine running with key, ** press the Remote Start button for at least a 1/2 second or twice if set for double press . 2) Parking Lights will turn ON. 3) Doors will unlock, or if brake pedal is being depressed, doors will unlock when it is released.
11 REMOTE ENGINE STARTING INFINITY RUN MODE – EXITING THE VEHICLE: 1) With vehicle engine running with the key, ** press the Remote Start button for at least 1/2 second, pause a few seconds, then press and release the remote start button a second time.
12 TURBO TIMER MODE (OPTIONAL) The optional Turbo Timer mode allows the CoolStart system to keep a Turbo or Turbo Diesel vehicle running for 1 to 5 minutes [selectively] after you remove the key, exit t he vehicle, and lock the doors remotely. This is handy for turbo cool - down without the need for expensive turbo timers.
13 CONVENIENCE AND S AFETY FEATURES KEYLESS ENTRY (POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL, Optional) This system enables you to remotely lock and unlock the vehicle’s doors (if equipped with power locks) via remote control for safety and convenience. Note: This feature may require extra la bor and/or parts to install.
14 CONVENIENCE AND SAFETY FEATURES V ALET MODE / STARTER DISABLE OVERRIDE Before servicing your vehicle or handing the keys over to a Valet we recommend putting the unit into valet mode.
15 TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING Note: All transmitter codes must be learned at time of programming!! The unit will learns up to 4 different transmitter codes. 1. Open Hood (If no hood pin installed with your system, then you must ground the Gray Hood pin wire).
16 COOLSTART VEHICLE #2 Press side button first, then you have 3 seconds to control vehicle #2. 1 WAY SIDEKICK REMOTE 2 - VEHICLE OPERATION A single remote can control two different vehicles Cool S tart systems installed . However, both systems must be the same type.
17 2 - VEHICLE OPERATION Cont. L.E.D Two - way Remote In step #4 of transmitter programming (see Page 1 5 ), press and hold the side button on the LED remote for 5 seconds. The unit will beep 2 times and a yellow LED will flash (now you are in 2 nd vehicle operation mode).
18 TROUBLESHOOTING cont. NO RESPONSE FROM REMOTE TRANSMITTERS: (4 Parts) 1. Check for proper power/ground wiring connections a t module. 2. Check Antenna Module connection. The antenna module included with this system must be plugged in. 3. Transmitters may need to be programmed to the unit.
19 LOW BATTERY WARNING LOW BATTERY WARNING - LCD REMOTE ( RS - 1604TW1 / RS - 1704TW2 ) RS - 1604TW1 ( LED system) : When the battery is low the orange and green LED flash 6 times with any button pres sed. RS - 1704TW2 / RS - 1804FM/1905FM (LCD SYSTEM): When the battery is low , a low battery icon turn s on.
SETTING THE CLOCK (2 - WAY - LCD REMOTE) RS - 1704 TW1 1. Press the Recall button #5 on the side of the remote control 5 times. 2. The remote will beep and the AM or PM display will begin flashing. 3. Pres s the Lock button #1 to increase time. 4. Press the U nlock button #2 to decrease time.
