ASS LY HOW TO SET UP YOUR TRACTOR _NSTALL SEAT (See Fig. 4) • .... PREPARE BATTERY (See Fig. 3) CAUTION: Wear eye and face shield. Wash hands or clothing immediately if accidentally in contact with battery acid. Do not smoke. Fumes from charged battery acid are explosive.
INSTALL BATTERY (See Figs. 5 & 6) CAUTION: Do not short battery termi- nals. Before installing battery, remove metal bracelets, wristwatch bands, rings, etc. Positive terminal must be connected first to prevent sparking from acciden- tal grounding_ Lift seat to raised position.

OPERATION The operation of any tractor can result in foreign objects thrown into the eyes, which can result in severe eye damage, Always wear safety glasses or eye shields before starting your tractor and while moving. We recommend wide vision safety mask for over the spectacles or standard safety glasses.
o The average lawn should be cut to approximately 2-1/2 inches duringthe cool season and to over 3 inches duringhot months.. For healthier and better looking lawns, mow often andafter moderate growth.. o Forbest cutting performance, grass over6 inches in height shouldbe mowed twice.
TO START ENGBNE (See Fig. 9) When starting engine for' the first time or if engine has run out of fuel, it wilt take extra cranking time to move fue! from the tank to the engine. ° Depress the clutch/brake pedal and set the parking brake. o Place gearshift lever in "NEUTRAL" position.

CUSTO ER TRACTOR Always observe safety rules when performing any mainte- nance BRAKE OPERATION if tractor' requires more than six (6) feet stopping distance at high speed in highest gear, then brake must be adjusted_ (See "TO ADJUST BRAKE" in the Service and Adjust- ments section of this manual).
.......... ..... .: TO CLEAN BATTERY AND TERMINALS - Corrosion and dirt on the battery and terminals can cause the battery to "leak" power, o Open battery box door,, o Disconnect BLACK battery cable first then RED bat- tery cable and remove battery from tractor.

CAUTION: BEFORE PERFORMING ANY SERVICE OR ADJUSTMENTS: . Depress clutch/brake pedal fully and set parking brake. o Place gearshift lever in "NEUTRAL" position. • Place attachment clutch in "DISENGAGED position. Turn ignition key "OFF" and remove key.
SERVICE AND ADJUSTMENTS TO LEVEL MOWER HOUSBNG Adjust the mower while tractor is parked on level ground or driveway. Make sure tires are properly inflated (See "PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS" on page 3 of this manua0. If tires are over o r underinfiated, you will not properly adjust your mower'.

TO REMOVE WHEEL FOR REPAnRS (See Fig. 3!) o Block up axle securely. o Remove axle cover, retaining ring and washersto allow wheel removal (rear wheel contains a square key - Do not lose), • Repair tire and reassemble. • On rear wheels only: align grooves in rear wheel hub and axle.
