WELCOME 5 THANK YOU Congratulations on becoming a Cinema 11 owner! Thank you for purchasing the Cinema 11 Digital Surround Sound Processor. The Cinema 11 is our fourth generation AV preamplifier design and it is meant to be a reference quality surround sound audio control center with very sophi stic ated automatic or manual se t up functions.
WELCOME 6 PRODUCT FEATURES More than just an audio co ntrol center, the Cine ma 11 features the latest ver sion of CES 7.1 decoding, which derives 7.1 channel output from stereo, 5.1 and 6.1 channel sources. Unlike other decoders, CES 7.1 is compatible with all input sourc es and requires no special encoding.

CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS 18 REMOTE CONTROL This section explains how b est to use the remote control to set up and operat e the Cinema 11. 1. POWER OFF: Press this but ton to turn the Cinema 11 OFF. 2. TUNER SCAN: If INPUT is set to AM or FM, use this button to scan frequencies that have been PRESET.

INSTALLATION 23 POWER CONTROL CONNECTIONS The TRIGGER jacks are used to remotely turn-on other devices in your system when the Cine ma 11 is ON. Power is applied to the MAIN Trigger Ou tp ut jack when the Cinema 11 is turned on from the Standby Mode.

MANUAL SOUND SETUP 28 The first step in configuring the Cinema 11 to op erat e with your speaker system is to set the type, number and crossover frequencies of your particular loudsp eakers. You make these selections using the SPEAKER S ETUP menu shown below.

This must be done to insure a correct presentation of mu lti-channel sound sources. The adjustmen t must be as precise as possible, and is almost impo ssible to accomplish by ear.
