OPERA TING INSTRUCTIONS Safety instructions The safety of AEG electrical appliances conforms to accepted rules of technology and the Appliance Safety Act. We as manufactur ers, however , see ourselves as being obliged to familiarise you with the following safety instructions.
● The water in your dishwasher is not for drinking. Detergent r esidues may still be present in your machine. K eep children well away fr om your dishwasher when the door is open.
Disposal Dispose of the dishwasher packaging material correctly . All packaging materials can be recycled. Plastic parts are marked with standar d international abbreviations: >PE< for polyethylene, e.g. sheet wrapping material. >PS< for polystyr ene, e.

Operating instructions 8 Function push buttons: in addition to the dishwashing progr amme selected, the following functions can also be set with the help of these buttons: - water softener setting, - deactivation/activation of the inflow of rinse aid, - deactivation/activation of the audible signals, - the cancelling of a washing progr amme.

Operating instructions 10 Prior to using for the first time Before using your dishwasher for the fir st time: 1. Ensure that the electrical and water connections comply with the installation instructions 2. Remove all packaging from inside the appliance 3.
a) Setting manually 1. Open the dishwasher door . 2. Remove the lower basket from the dishwasher . 3. Turn the water har dness switch to position 1 or 2 (see table). 4. Replace the lower basket. The dishwasher is factory set at position 2. b) Setting electr onically (The dishwasher must be switched off) The dishwasher is factory set at level 5.
Operating instructions 12 4. To change the level, pr ess push button 1 . Each time the push button is pressed the level changes. (For the selection of the new level see the chart). Examples: if the current level is 5, by pr essing push button 1 once, level 6 is selected.
Operating instructions 13 Filling the with salt Only use salt specifically designed for use in dishwashers. All other types of salt not specifically designed for use in a dishwasher , especially table salt, will damage the water softener . Only fill with salt just before starting one of the complete washing progr ammes.
Operating instructions 14 Rinse aid Rinse aid is automatically added during the last rinse, ensuring thorough rinsing, and spot and str eak free drying. The dispenser , which is positioned inside the door , holds about 1 1 0 ml of rinse aid, which is sufficient for 16 - 40 dishwashing progr ammes, depending upon the dosage setting.
Operating instructions 15 Adjusting the dose According to the finish and drying r esults obtained, adjust the dose of rinse aid by means of the 6 position selector (position 1 minimum dosage, position 6 maximum dosage). The dose is factory set in position 4.
Operating instructions 16 If you are using dishwasher deter gent that already contains rinse aid, the detergent including the rinse aid must be placed in the deter gent compartment. In this case the rinse aid inflow must be deactivated in order to avoid a double dosage.
Operating instructions 17 In daily use • Check if it’s necessary to refill with special salt or rinse aid. • Load cutlery and dishes into the dishwasher . • Fill with dishwasher deter gent. • Select a wash pr ogramme suitable for the cutlery and dishes.
Operating instructions 18 For washing in the di shwas her the following cutlery/dishes are not suitable: • Cutlery with wooden, horn, china or mother-of-pearl handles • Plastic items that are not .
Operating instructions 19 Open the door and slide out the baskets to load the dishes. The lower basket The lower basket is designed to take saucepans, lids, plates, salad bowls, cutlery etc. Serving dishes and large lids should be arr anged around the edge of the basket, ensuring that the spray arms can turn fr eely .
Operating instructions 20 The cutlery basket Long bladed knives stored in an upright position ar e a potential hazard. Long and/or sharp items of cutlery such as carving knives must be positioned horizontally in the upper basket. Take car e when loading or unloading sharp items such as knives.
The upper basket The upper basket is designed for plates (dessert plates, saucers, dinner plates of up to 26 cm in diameter), salad bowls, cups and glasses. Arrange items on and underneath the cup r acks so that water can reach all surfaces. Glasses with long stems can be placed upside down in the cup racks.

Operating instructions 23 Use of deter gent Only use detergents specifically designed for use in dishwashers . Using no more then the corr ect amount of detergent contributes to reducing pollution. Prior to the start of a wash progr amme (not for the "Rinse and Hold" progr amme).
Operating instructions 24 Differ ent kinds of deter gent Deter gent tablets Detergent tablets of differ ent brands dissolve at differ ent speeds. For this reason some deter gent tablets cannot dissolve and develop their full cleaning power during short progr ammes.
Operating instructions 25 Use of "3 in 1" combi deter gents General advice These products ar e detergents with integr ated and combined detergent/rinse-aid and salt functions.
Operating instructions 26 W ashing progr ammes (1) The consumption values were obtained under standar dised conditions. They depend on how full the baskets for the dishes are. V ariations are therefor e possible in practice. (2) Testing pr ogramme for EN 50242 (see "Hints for T est Centres).
Operating instructions 27 Starting a washing pr ogr amme In this fully integrated appliance the contr ols are located on the top of the door . When selecting a programme, the door needs to be open. 1. Check that the baskets have been loaded corr ectly and that the spray arms can r otate fr eely 2.
Operating instructions 28 5. T o interrupt or cancel a washing progr amme in pr ogress Interrupt, or cancel a washing progr amme in progr ess ONL Y if it’s absolutely necessary Attention! Hot steam may escape when the door is opened. Open the door carefully .
Operating instructions 29 7. End of the washing pr ogramme The dishwasher will automatically stop and an audible signal informs you of the end of the washing progr amme.
Operating instructions 30 Maintenance and cleaning Clean the external surfaces of the machine and control panel with a damp soft cloth. If necessary use only neutral deter gents. Never use abrasive pr oducts, scouring pads or solvent (acetone, trichloroethylene etc.
Operating instructions 31 4. Take hold of the coar se/fine filter ( A/B ) by the handle with the hole and remove fr om the microfilter ( C ). 5. Clean all filters thor oughly under running water . 6. Remove the flat filter ( D ) from the base of the washing compartment and clean both faces thoroughly .
Operating instructions 32 Pr olonged periods of non-operation If you are not using the machine for any period of time you ar e advised to: 1. Unplug the appliance and then turn off the water . 2. Leave the door ajar to prevent the formation of any unpleasant smells.

Certain problems ar e due to the lack of simple maintenance or oversights, which can be solved with the help of the instructions given here, without calling out an engineer . ...a flashing fault code appears The dishwasher will not start or stops during operation.
Operating instructions 34 ...ther e are pr oblems when operating the dishwasher Once the checks have been carried out, to continue the progr amme press push button of the pr ogramme that was running befor e the intervention of the alarm and close the door .
Operating instructions 35 ...the wash r esults are not satisfactory The dishes are not clean ● The wrong washing pr ogramme has been selected. ● The dishes were arr anged in such a way as to stop water reaching all parts of the surface. The baskets must not be overloaded.
Service 36 Service If after all these checks, the problem per sists, contact your local Service Force Centr e, quoting the model (Mod.), product number (PNC) and serial number (S.N.). This information can be found on the rating plate located on the side of the dishwasher door (see picture).
Guarantee terms 37 Guar antee terms (Belgium) Our appliances are pr oduced with the greatest of car e. However , a defect may still occur . Our consumer services department will repair this upon r equest, either during or after the guarantee period. The service life of the appliance will not, however , be reduced as a result.

Installation instructions 40 Installation instructions Any electrical and/or plumbing work requir ed to install this appliance should be carried out by a qualified electrician and/or plumber or competent person. Remove all packaging before positioning the machine.
Installation instructions 41 W ater supply connections This dishwasher may be fed with either hot (max. 60°) or cold water . Nevertheless we advise you a cold water supply . A hot water supply is not always efficient with very soiled crockery as it shortens the washing progr ammes a lot.
Installation instructions 42 W ater inlet hose with safety valve After connecting the double-walled water inlet hose, the safety valve is next to the tap. Therefor e the water inlet hose is only under pressur e while the water is running. If the water inlet hose starts to leak during this operation, the safety valve cuts off the running water .
Installation instructions 43 W ater outlet hose connection The end of the drain hose can be connected in the following ways: 1. To the sink outlet spigot, securing it to the under side of the work surface. This will prevent waste water fr om the sink running into the machine.

Hints for test centres 45 Hints for test centr es Testing in accor dance with EN 60 7 04 must be carried out with appliance fully loaded and using the test progr amme (see " Washing progr ammes " chart).
