4 Oper ating Instructions 1 Safety Prior to using for the first time • Follow the ”Instructions for install ation and connect ion” . Corr ect use • The dishwasher is only intended for washing domestic dishes. • Additions or modifications to the dishwasher ar e not permitted.

6 The Pr ogramme buttons are used to select the desir ed dishwashing cy- cle. Function buttons : In addition to the pre-set dishwashing cycle, the following functions can also be set using these buttons: Progr amme progr ess display : The current stage of the progr amme is always shown in the pr ogramme pr ogr ess display .
7 The control indicators have the following meanings: Prior to using for the first time 3 If you wish to use 3 in 1 detergent: – F i rs t rea d t he s e ct i o n “U s i ng 3 i n 1 d e t erg e n ts ” . – Do not fill up with special salt or rinse aid.
8 3 If indicators for the pr ogr amme butt ons are lit, a dishwashing cycle is activated. The cycle must be deacti vated: Press function buttons 2 and 3 simultaneously for approx. 2 seconds. All additional wash progr amme button indicator s will go out.
9 Adding special salt To decalcify the water soft ener , it mu st be filled up with special sa lt. Use only special salt suitable for domestic dishwashers. If you do not use 3 in1 detergent, fill up with special salt: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the first ti me.
10 Filling up with rinse aid With rinse aid the rinsing water drains away better and so you get smear-free, gleaming di shes and clear glasses. If you do not use 3in1 detergent, fill up with rinse aid: – Before usin g the dishwasher for the first ti me.
11 Setting the amount of rinse aid r equired 3 Only change the amount dispensed, if smears, milky spots (reduce the amount) or dried on water spots (inc rease the amount) can be seen on glasses and dishes. (See section “If di shwashing results are not satisfac- tory” .
12 In daily use Loading cutlery and dishes 1 Sponges, cleaning cloths and any ot her objects that ca n absorb water must not be washed in the dishwash er . Plastic and Teflon-coated dishes and pans tend to r etain water droplet s. These dishes an d pans therefor e do not dry as well as those made of china and stainless steel.
13 Loading cutlery 1 War n i n g : Sharp knives and other items of cutlery with sharp edges must be laid in the cutlery r ack or in the upper basket to avoid the risk of injury .
14 To make it easier to load lar ger dish- es, the two plate rests on the right in the lower basket can be folded down. Cups , Glasses, Coffee Service Load smaller , fragile cr ockery and long, sharp cutlery in the upper bas- ket.
15 Adjusting the height of the upper basket 3 The height of the baskets can also be adjusted when they are loaded. Raising/lowering the upper basket 1. Pull out the upper basket complete- ly . 2. Raise the upper bask et as far as it will go and then lower it vert ically .
16 Adding deter gent De t e rge n t s re m o v e t h e di r t fr om dishes and cutlery . The detergent must be added befor e the cycle starts. 1 Only use deter gent intended for do- mestic dishwashers. The detergent compartment is lo- cated on the inside of the door .
17 Concentr ated detergents Today’ s deter gents for dishwasher s are almost exclusively low-alkaline concentrated deter gents with natu r al enzymes in tablet or powder form.

19 Selecting a pr ogramme When your dishes look like this, select: an intensive progr amme. a normal or energy-saving pr o- gramme. a short progr amme (e.
20 Starting a dishwashing cycle 1. Check that the spray arms can turn fr eely . 2. Turn the water tap on fully . 3. Close the door . 4. Press the ON/OFF button. 5. Select the desired cycle. The progr amme display lights up. On e or two lights will flash in the progr amme pr ogress display .
21 Setting the Delay Timer Using the delay timer you can delay th e start of a dishwashing cycle for 3, 6 or 9 hours. 1. Press the ON/OFF button. 2. Press the Delay Timer button r epeated ly until the indica tor next to the number of hours for whi ch the start of the dishwashing cycle is to be delayed lights up, e.
22 Car e and cleaning 1 Do not use furniture care pr odu cts or aggressive cleaner s. • When necessary , clean the dishwasher ’s contr ols with a soft cloth and clean warm water . • Occasionally check the internal di spenser s, door seal and water inlet filter (if fitted) for dirt and clean them, if necessary .
23 5. Remove the flat filter (3) fr om the base of the washing compartment and clean both surfaces thor oughly . 6. Re-insert the flat filter . 7. Place the fine filter in the micro-fil- ter and fit the two together . 8. Insert the filter system in place and lock it by turning the handle clock- wise as far as it will go.
24 3. Place cleaned upper basket spray arm back in position against the connect- ing piece: press the two together firmly , until you feel them snap into place. Bottom spray arm 1. To r emove bottom spr ay arm, pull it upwards out of its catch. 2. Clean spray arm jets.
25 What to do if... Remedying small malfunctions If while the appliance is operating indicator s on the control panel flash or are lit up as described in the foll owing table, please consult th is to find out how to r emedy the fault.

27 If the dishwashing r esults are not satisfactory The dishes are still dirty . • The wrong dishwashing cycle was selected. • The dishes were loaded is such a way that the dishwashing water did not reach all items. The baskets for the dishes must not be overload- ed.
28 Disposal 2 Packaging material The packaging materials are envir onmentally friendly and can be r ecy- cled. The plastic components are id entified by markings, e.g. >PE<, >PS<, etc. Please dispose of the pa ckaging materials in the appropriate container at the community waste disposal facilities.

33 Installing the dishwasher • The dishwasher must be installed on a firm floor and adjusted to en- sure that it is stable and level in all dir ections. • To compensate for unevenness in the floor and to match the height of the appliance to that of sur- rounding units, extend the thr ead- ed feet using a screwdriver .
34 Fr ee-standing appliances 1 If the dishwasher is installed dir ect ly next to a cooker , a heat-insulat- ing, non-flammable panel (laminated with aluminium foil on the side next to th e cooker) must be fitt ed flush with the top edge of the work surface (depth 57.
35 Connecting the dishwasher Connecting to the water supply • The dishwasher can be connected to cold and hot water supplies up to max. 60°C. • The dishwasher must not be connect ed to open hot water appliances or instantaneous water heater s.
36 W ater drainage Drain hose 1 The drain hose must not be kinked, crushed or entangled. Connecting the drai n hose: – Maximum permitted height: 1 metre. – Minimum requir ed height: 40 cm above the bottom edge of the ap- pliance. 37 Water dr ainage into sink (only poss ible with free-standing appli- ances) If you wish to hang the drain hose in a wash basin, use a detachable hose elbow . You can obtain this from customer service by r eferring to spare part number ET 646 069 190.
38 Connecting systems The water inlet hose, drain hose and the mains cable must all be con- nected to the side of the dishwasher as there is no space for them be- hind the appliance.
