(2) Select the page size of the loaded paper in Paper Size. Here we sel ect A4. (3) Select Quality & Media in the pop -up m enu. (4) Select the media type of the loaded paper in Media Ty pe.
7. Start printing. Click Print to start printing. Note Click the printer icon in the Dock to display the list of print jobs in progress. To cancel a print job in prog ress, select the desired job in the Name list and click Del ete. To temporarily stop a job in progress, click Hold.

3. Load paper. (1) Load the paper stack W ITH THE PRINT SIDE FACING DOW N and THE LEADING EDGE TO THE FAR SIDE, and align it against the right side of the Casse tte. (2) Slide the Paper Guide (B) to align w ith the m ark of page size. The Paper Guide (B) w ill s top when it aligns with the corresponding mark of page size.
(4) Set the Cover on the Cas sette. (5) Insert the Cassette into the printer. Push the Cassette all the way into the printer. Note The Cassette will stic k out of the printer, but do not f orce it into the printer any further. This can damage the prin ter or Cassette.

Loading Photo Paper Important If y ou cut plai n paper into small size such as 4" x 6" / 10 x 15 cm, 4" x 8" / 101.
(4) Slide the Paper Guides (A) to align them with both sides of the paper stack. Do not slide the Paper Guid es too hard. The paper may not be fed properly.
Press dow n on all f our corners and edges of the envelopes to flatten them. If the envelopes are curled, hold the opposite corners and gently twist them in the opposite direction. If t he corner of the envelope f lap is f olded, flatten it. Use a pen to press the leading edge in the inserting direction flat and sharpen the crease.

Caution Do not hold the Print Head Ho lder to stop or move it forcibly. Do not touch the Print Head Holde r until it stops completely. Important Do not place any object on the Top Cover. It will fall into the Rear Tray when the Top Cover is opened an d cause the printer to malfu nction.
w hen r eplacing two or more ink tanks. For details on ink lamp fl ashing spee d, see Ch ecking the Ink Status . 4. Prepare the new in k tank. (1) Take a new ink tank out of its pack age, pull the orange tape ( ) in the direction of the arrow to peel it off, then remove the fil m ( ).

(1) Click Cleaning. (2) Make sure that one or m ore sheets of A4 or Letter-sized plain paper are loaded in the Casse tte. Follow the procedure from (3) in step 5 (W ind ows or Macintosh) in Cleaning the P rint Head to clean the Print Head. Go to Sele ct the ink group to clean.

(3) Select the ink group to clean. Note This printer has two kinds of black ink: PGBK (pigment ink) an d BK (dye ink). Check the nozzle check pattern, then click Black if there are missi ng lines in PGBK, or click Color if there are horizon tal white streaks in BK.

(5) Conf irm the displayed message an d click Print Check Pattern. The nozzle check pattern will be printed. Do not perform an y other ope rations until the printer comp letes the printing of the nozzle check pattern. 6. Examine the nozzle check pattern.

5. Clean the Print Head deeply . (1) Make sure that Cleaning is selected in the pop-up menu. (2) Click Deep Cleaning. (3) Select the ink group to clean deeply.

4. Open the printer driver setup w indow. See Opening the Printer Dri ver Setup W in dow (W ind ows) . 5. Adjust the print head position. (1) Click the Maintenance tab. (2) Click Print Head Alignm ent. (3) Confirm the displayed message, and click Align Print Head.
If the print results are still not s atisfactory after adjusting t he print head position as described above, align the Print Head manuall y. Refer to the on-screen manual: Advanced Guide . To print and check the current head posi tion adjustment valu es, click Print Alignment Value .
Do not perform an y other ope rations until the printer comp letes the printing of the print head alig nment pattern. This takes about 5 minutes to complete. Note If the automatic adjustment of the pri nt head position ha s failed, the A larm lamp flashes.

5. Clean the Paper Feed Roller w ithout paper. (1) Follow the messa ge to remove pape r in the paper sourc e y ou se lected in (3) of step 4. (2) Click OK. The Paper Feed Roll er will rotate as it is cleaned. 6. Clean the Paper Feed Roller w ith paper.
