2 Setting Up 1 Pre paring the Prin ter 1 1 1 1 Place the pri nter on a fl at surface. 2 2 2 2 Remove the tape and the shippi ng materi al fro m th e prin ter as shown. The tape po sition is su bject to chang e. 2 Connectin g the Print er t o th e Compute r Use either a USB cable o r para llel prin ter ca ble.

4 3 Installing th e Pri nt Head • Never a ttemp t to plu g the p ower cord i nto the power o utlet or un plug the po wer cord whe n your hands are wet. • Neve r dama ge, mod ify , stret ch, or ex cessiv ely be nd o r twist t he power cord. Do not p lace he avy obje cts on t he powe r cord.
5 6 6 6 6 Remove the prote ctive cap from the prin t head. 7 7 7 7 Place the print head in the holder . 8 8 8 8 Lock t he prin t head into pl ace by lowering th e lever .
6 3 3 3 3 Hold the ink tank as shown in the diagram and remove the protective c ap. 4 4 4 4 Inser t the yellow ink t ank into the right- hand slot . Press the top until it cli cks into pla ce. 5 5 5 5 Use t he same pr ocedure to in stall t he other ink tanks i n their appropriate slots.
