4 Read This First About the Manuals This user guide describes how to connect the printer to a computer and pr int images. Printer (CP-330/CP-220) User Guide Provides printer handling notes, safety precautions, printer preparation, names of parts and other information necessary for operating the printer.

7 Installing the Printer Driver Installing This section describes how to install the printer dr iv er on your computer . Installation star ts automatically the first time you connect the printer to your computer’ s USB por t. The screen e xamples and descriptions given in this section are f or the CP-330 connected to a computer .
8 Windows 98 1 Close an y programs that are running. 2 Place the Canon CP Printer Solution Disk in the CD-R OM drive . When the installer panel appears, clic k [Exit] to close it. 3 T urn the printer on. ( ➡ p.28) 4 Connect the printer to y our computer , using the USB cable .
9 7 Select “Specify a location”. Click the [Br owse] b utton to select the [CP_DR V7ENGLISHWIN98CP330] folder on the CD-R OM and c lick the [OK] b utton. Then clic k the [Next] b utton. For the CP-220 , select the [CP_DR V7ENGLISHWIN98CP220] folder .
10 8 Clic k the [Next] b utton. The USB driver f or the pr inter is installed. 9 When the f ollowing message appears, c lick the [Finish] b utton. Now y ou can continue and install the printer dr iv er . 10 When the f ollowing message appears, c lick the [Ne xt] button.
11 11 Select “Searc h for the best driver f or y our device (Recommended). ” and then c lick the [Ne xt] button. 12 Because the f older specified in step 7 already appears here, simply c lic k the [Next] b utton. Do not select “CD-ROM driv e”.
12 14 Adjust an y necessar y settings, and then clic k the [Finish] button. The printer dr iv er is installed. 15 When the f ollowing message appears, c lick the [Finish] b utton.

15 8 Select “A utomatic searc h for a better driver (Recommended)” and then c lick the [Ne xt] button. 9 In the list of printer drivers, select [Canon CP-330] so that [CP_DR V7ENGLISHWIN98CP330CNY3309X.INF] appears in [Location], then clic k the [OK] button.

22 6 In the list of printer drivers, select [Canon CP-330] so that [CP_DR V7ENGLISHWIN2KCP330CNY3302k.INF] appears in [Location], then clic k the [Next] b utton. For the CP-220 , select [Canon CP-220] so that [CP_DR V7ENGLISHWIN2KCP220CNY2202k.INF] appears.
23 If y ou hav e problems with the printer driver installation (f or e xample, the printer dr iv er’ s installation program stops during the installation), the USB driver ma y not be installed correctly . 1 When the Add Ne w Hard ware Wizard dialog appear s, c lick the [Cancel] b utton to cancel the installation.
24 5 Clic k the [Device Manager] tab. 6 Following the e xamples shown belo w , select [Canon CP-330] or [Canon CP-220] under [Universal Serial Bus contr ollers] or [Other devices], and then c lick the [Remo ve] button. Example 1: Use the following screen examples as a reference and make sure you select the correct device for deletion.
25 Example 2: 7 When the confirmation message appears, c lick the [OK] b utton. 8 Clic k the [OK] button to c lose the System Properties dialog. 9 Close the Contr ol Panel windo w . 10 Disconnect the USB cable fr om y our computer . 11 Restar t y our computer .
26 This section describes the procedure for uninstalling the softw are. Y ou must uninstall the software as outlined in the f ollowing pr ocedure . Using any other procedure to uninstall the softw are ma y lead to problems when y ou attempt to reinstall it.
27 8 Fr om the list of printers av ailable for deletion, select [Canon CP-330] and then c lick the [Delete] b utton. If you are using the CP-220, select [Canon CP-220]. 9 When the confirmation message appears, chec k the printer name and then c lick the [Y es] b utton.
28 T ur ning On the Printer Ref er to the abov e figure dur ing the f ollowing procedure (the numbers in the figure correspond to the steps in the procedure). 1 Place the printer on a flat surface . When printing, the paper temporarily projects out from the rear , so allow a clear space of at least 15 cm (6 inches) in the back.
29 Connecting the Printer to Y our Computer ■ Notes about connection • Using the USB cable, be sure to connect the printer directly to your computer.
30 1 Connect one end of the USB cable to the USB port on the printer , and the other end to a USB por t on y our computer . • There is no need to tur n off the printer or your computer . • When connecting the printer to your computer , make sure the connectors on the ends of the USB cable match the ports on the pr inter and your computer .
31 Printing This section describes how to use PhotoRecord to print images display ed in ZoomBrowser EX. ZoomBrowser EX and PhotoRecord are applications included on the Canon CP Printer Solution Disk.
32 Printing with Standar d Sheets or Full Size Label Sheets 1 Double-c lick the [ZoomBr owser EX] icon on the desktop. Or , clic k the [Star t] b utton and select [Programs] ([All Pr ograms] for Windows XP), [Canon Utilities], [ZoomBro wser EX], and [ZoomBr owser EX] to start the program.
33 3 Clic k [Lay out Print]. 4 Select an image to print and c lick the [Ne xt] button at the windo w ’ s bottom right..
34 5 Place a chec k mark beside the data y ou wish to include with the print (m ultiple selections are possible) and clic k [Finish]. The PhotoRecord printing utility will start, displaying the selected image. To add a comment to an image, select it in ZoomBrowser EX and click [Properties].
35 6 Clic k [2 Select Printer & Album T ype] and then select [Canon CP- 330] (or [Canon CP-220]) fr om [Printer]. Next, select [Album T ype] to chec k the print image . There are several types of albums. Select the one that suits your needs. Album Type Description One Photo Per Sheet Prints one image per sheet.
36 7 Clic k [3 Select Paper], and select the paper size and print orientation. • Clicking [Decorate Album] allows you to change image design features such as the border or background. To change the design, Click the border or background you want to change.
37 8 Clic k [4 Print], chec k print settings such as the number of copies, and then c lick [Print]. If you stop printing while printing is in progress, paper is ejected to the paper handling slot and an error message may be displayed. This is not a malfunction, but a mechanism for protecting the print head.
38 9 When printing is fi nished, clic k the on the upper right of the window to c lose PhotoRecor d. T o sav e the album, clic k [Y es] or clic k [No] if you don ’ t w ant to sav e it.
39 Printing on 8-Label Sheets 1 In [2 Select Printer & Alb um T ype], select “ 8-Sticker Label ” fr om [Alb um T ype]. 2 Select an image . T o make copies of an image , right-click ov er the screen and select [Make Copies]. Then, input the number of copies you w ant to make and clic k [OK] to create the speci fi ed number of image copies .
40 Mer ging Images to Print a Panorama Y ou can create panoramic images b y merging multiple images , and then printing them on wide paper . This operation is perf or med using the PhotoStitch software . 1 Clic k [View & Modify] in the ZoomBr owser EX main windo w .
41 4 Merge the images f ollowing the instructions in the guidance panel at the top of the PhotoStitch windo w . 5 Save y our panoramic image , and then clic k the to c lose PhotoStitch. 6 Print the panoramic image . 42 Printing Par t of an Image (T rimming) Y ou can select and then print a por tion of an image. This is useful when you only want to print par t of an image, or if the par t you are most interested in is not at the center of the image. 1 Double-c lick the ima ge displayed in the Alb um window .
43 2 Select the area y ou want to print. • In [2 Select Printer & Album T ype], when [8-Sticker Label] is selected f or [Album T ype], or the [A utomatic Clipping] chec k box is selected The trimming area is set automatically , and the area aspect ratio cannot be modi fi ed or the trimming frame remov ed.
44 Adjusting Color and Brightness (Image Quality Adjustment) 1 After selecting the printer in [2 Select Printer & Alb um T ype], clic k [Pr oper ties]. 2 Clic k the [Image Adjustment] tab and adjust the color and brightness f or printing. F or more details, clic k [?] or [Help] to displa y [Help].
45 Appendices About the Print Ar ea and Pixels Print Area The shaded area ( ) in the f ollowing diag rams indicates the maximum printable area. Note that because the print area is larger than the actual paper size, a border is trimmed from the image when it is pr inted.
