T o help you make the best use of your cooker , PLEASE READ THIS BOOKLET CAREFULL Y . Y our new cooker is guaranteed and will give lasting service. The guarant ee is only applicable if the cooker has been installed in accordance with the Installation Instructions.
Please read the precautions below befor e using your cook er . AL W A YS make sure you understand the controls bef ore using the co oker . AL W A YS check that all controls on the c ooker are turned off after use. AL W A YS stand back when opening an oven door t o allow heat to dis perse .
NEVER leave childr en unsupervised where the cooker is installed as all sur faces will get hot during and after use. NEVER allow any one to sit or stand on any part of the cooker . NEVER store items that childr en may attempt t o reach abov e the c ooker .
A UTOMA TIC C OOKING Only the main oven can be c ontrolled automatically . GUIDANCE ON A UTOMA TIC C OOKING 1. When planning your meal remember that the o ven control setting refers t o the temperature on the middle shelf; above this shelf it is hotter and below it is c ooler .
7 TIMER OPERA TION CL OCKF ACE The timer incorporates a 24 hour clock. Ensure the correct time of day is alw ays set , before using you cooke r . SYMBOLS Will light up when you select a Minute Minder Period and will r emain lit for the period set.
SETTING THE TIME OF DA Y Step 1 Make sure all oven controls ar e turned Off. Step 2 Check the electricity supply to the cooker is turned on. When switched on the display will show 0.00 and "A" symbol, both will be flashing intermittently . Step 3 Press & hold in both the "C ook Period & End Time" buttons together .
Step 3 Press & hold in the “C ook Period” button, the display will read 0.00 with the cookpot symbol lit up. Step 4 With the Cook P eriod button still held set the required C ook Pe riod using the “+” and “–” buttons.
At the end of the Aut omatic Cook P eriod the Auto Symbol "A" will flash and an intermittent bleeping sound will be heard . The sym bol will go out.
Step 4 Press & hold in the "C ook Period" button, the displa y will read 0.00 and the cookpot symbol will light up. With the Cook P eriod button still held set the required C ook Period using the "+" and "–" buttons, the "A" symbol will light up .
O THER NO TES ON TIMER OPERA TION 1. T o cancel the Auto C ooking programme before or after auto cooking starts, press the "Cook Period" and "End Time" buttons together , this will return the cooker to the manual operation.
13 HO TPL A TE The hotplate lid is fitted with a saf et y device which cuts off the gas supply to the hotplate burners unless the lid is fully open. Do not use the s afety device as a means of controlling the hotplat e burners.
14 HO TPL A TE SAFET Y REQUIREMENTS FOR DEEP F A T FRYING 1. Nev er fill chip pans more than one third full with oil or fat . 2. Nev er leave oil or fat unattended during the heating or cooli ng period . 3. Nev er heat fat or fr y with a lid on the pan.
The top ov en can be used to cook small quantities of food or us ed in conjunction with the main oven t o provide additional cooking space. The shelf in the top ov en has a heat shield fitted at the rear . The shield can be removed for cleaning and grilling , but must be replaced when using the oven.

T O USE THE GRILL 1. Open the top oven/grill door and remov e the grill pan. 2. Remove the heat shield from the rear of the shelf for maximum grilling area. 3. Place shelf in chosen position. Refer to grilling chart. 4. Push in and turn the control knob clockwise to the large flam e symbol.
The follo wing chart is a guide. Grilling can be star ted from co ld but f or best results preheat for appr oximately tw o minutes. Most cooking is done with the heat on full, but it may be desirable to r educe it for thicker pieces of meat or f or k eeping food warm.
The ov en has different hea t zones – the thermostat settings ref er t o the temperature on the middle shelf position; above this shelf it is hott er and below it is cooler . Tw o shelves pro vide five possible cooking levels enabling full use of the different t emperatures inside the o ven.
C OLD ST ART C OOKING Anything requiring long slow c ooking such as casseroles and ric h fruit cakes can be put into a cold ov en. S atisfactory results can also be obtained with creamed mixture, rich pastries or yeast mixtures, but for perfection we recommend preheating the o ven for about 15 minutes at the gas mark y ou require for c ooking.

The ‘Slow C ook’ setting on the main oven thermostat is used for slow cooking , keeping food warm and warming plates f or shor t periods. USING THE ‘SL OW C OOK’ SET TING FOR SL OW C OOKING 1. All dishes cooked by the ‘Slo w Cook’ setting should be cooked for a minimum 6 hours.
25 Switch off the electricity supply and allow to c ool before cleaning the cook er . Clean the cooker r egularly and wipe up spills so on after they occur to pr ev ent them from becoming burnt on.
CARE AND CLEANING C OOKER FINISH CLEANING METHOD Vitreous Enamel Hotplate , pan supports, burner caps, roasting dish, grill pan, main oven base , inside of grill compartment, inside of doors. Cloth wrung out in warm soapy water . Stubborn stains can be remov ed with a cream paste , liquid cleaner or by rubbing with fine steel wool soap pads.

28 Cannot set an “ Auto C ook” programme or cannot get the timer to turn the ov en on or off at the required times . Read the Timer instructions in this book carefully remembering that the Cook period is the length of time that the timer will switch the ov en(s) on as part of an Auto Cooking Programme .
29 Prior to installation, ensur e that the local distribution conditions (nature of the gas and gas pressure) and the adjustment conditions ar e compatible. T he adjustment conditions for this appliance ar e stated on the data badge which is fitted on the back panel.

31 SP ACE FOR FIXING The cooker can be close fitted below hotplat e level. This requir es a minimum distance of 540mm between cupboard units of hotplate height. When installing next to a tall cupboard , par tition or wall, for a minimum distance of 400mm above hotplat e level, allow a side clear ance of at least 65mm.
32 UNP ACKING THE C OOKER Unpack the components from inside the grill and ov en: Check that the following parts are present. Grill pan and grid T op oven/grill shelf heat shield Baking dish Pan suppor.
33 C ONNECTING TO GAS SUPPL Y The cooker is designed to match the depth of standar d 600mm wor ktops. An adapt or backplate should, theref ore, be fitted within the shaded area shown t o allow the cooker to be pushed fully to the wall. If a forward facing back plate is used, it must be chased into the wall.
Connection to the electricity supply should be made via a properly ear thed, r eadily accessible wall socket which is adjacent to but not directly above , and not more than 1.25m away from the appliance and capable of electrical isolation. The mains lead should be routed such that it cannot t ouch hot parts of the cook er i.
35 INST ALLA TION AND OPERA TIONAL CHECKS After installation, check for gas soundness . The supply pressur e can be checked at the grill injector . Access to the injector is by first removing the baffle a t the front of the grill fastened by two screws .
