Last number redial Can redial the last three numbers you called and lets you access other phone functions. Keypad Display Displays the status of your handset. T o connect the back-up box The back-up box must be connected between your Diverse 1015 and the power adaptor . • Plug the back-up box power cord into the socket on the underside of your Diverse 1015 ( 1 ). • Plug the power adaptor into the back-up box.
5 Co n ne ct i n g t h e p o w er c ab le Plug the power cable into the power socket on the underside of your Diverse 1015. T ake care that the telephone line cord and power cable plugs are connected to the cor r ect sockets. Incor r ect placement could damage the unit.

OFF Phone calls cannot be made and the handset does not respond to incoming calls. • T o switch on, press and hold down the PWR button until the display is activated.
T o receive an external call When the phone rings the display flashes EXT . Press the PHONE button on the handset and speak or If the handset is on the base unit or charging unit, simply lift it up and speak. Y ou do not need to press the PHONE button.
T o make an internal intercom call to another handset • Press the INT button. Display shows your handset number . • Enter the number of the handset you want to call. The called handset will ring. • T o end the call, press the PHONE button or replace the handset on the base or charging unit.
T o put an external caller on hold and speak to another internal handset • Press the INT button. Y ou hear the inter nal dial tone and your exter nal caller is put on hold and will hear a melodious tone. • Press the handset number you want, 1- 6 .
T o speed dial a number stored in the memory • Press the PHONE button. Y ou will hear the dial tone. Display shows EXT . • Press and r elease the MEM button twice; the number in memor y 1 will be displayed. • Continue to press and release the MEM button to scroll through the memories.
Usi n g a n d c h a n gi n g t h e s y st e m c ode a nd h a nds et PIN As a digital phone system, your Diverse 1015 provides excellent security against others ‘listening in’ to your calls. Y ou can also prevent unauthorised use of the handset(s).
O pt io nal s ett i n gs Adjusting ear piece volume The volume of received calls can be set to three dif ferent levels ranging from nor mal to loud. T o set the volume: • Press the STORE button. • Press the 0 button the cur rent setting is displayed.
18 Usi n g y ou r Div ers e 10 15 T o adjust the ringer volume in the base unit There ar e seven levels: 0 = of f, 6 = high. Factor y setting is 6. • Press the STO button. • Press the # button. • Press the ✱ button. • Press the 5 button. Display shows the volume level set.
T o switch the battery warning tone on and off Y ou will hear a tone when the batteries need to be recharged. If the batteries are alr eady fully charged, hearing the signal means they should be replaced. Y ou can tur n this sound on and of f. The factor y setting is ON.
20 Usi n g y ou r Div ers e 10 15 T o switch the ‘in-range’ tone on and off If you have taken the handset outside the phone’s range – provided the handset is switched on – you will hear a tone when you come back within range. Y ou can tur n this sound on and of f.
Cal l b a r r i n g Y ou can stop all the exter nal and inter nal calls being made from all handsets or individual handsets. Incoming calls can still be received and answered. Y ou can also add up to four special numbers of your own - for example, other emergency numbers, core business suppliers or doctor , dentist, spouse and school.

Advisory announcement Y ou can recor d an advisor y announcement. This enables you to leave a statement for callers but does not allow them to recor d a message. Y ou can switch between your outgoing messages and advisor y announcement by pressing the MODE button.

If you have new messages, your Diverse 1015 will announce after 2 rings. If you do not have any new messages, your Diverse will not answer until 4 rings.
OR From another external To u ch ton e TM phone • Dial your Diverse 1015 phone number . • When the Diverse 1015 takes your call, enter the system code. (This must be dif ferent from the factor y setting of 0000. See page 16 on how to change your system code.
T o skip forwards or backwards during playback • Press the 3 button to move on to the next message. or • T o play back the cur r ent message again, press the 1 button. or • T o move back several messages, press the 1 button repeatedly . T o pause during playback • Press the 5 button.
T o mark a message as new • Press the ✱ button twice during playback. The playback skips to the end of the message and the voice announces, ‘M ess ag e is new ’ . or • Press 5 to cancel. T o delete a message during playback • Press the 0 button during playback of the message to be deleted.
T o record an advisory announcement First select the operating mode A by following the instr uctions on page 33 entitled ‘ To select the operating mode’ . • Press the 6 button. The voice says, ‘Record i ng ’ . • Press the 7 button. The voice says, ‘R ecordi ng ad vi sor y me ssa g e ’ .
37 R emote o peration of your Div ers e 10 15 T o switch on your answering machine from another phone • Dial your number and let it ring. After approximately 17 rings, your Diverse 1015 answering machine automatically switches on. When you hear your outgoing message, hang up.

Display shows your handset’s inter nal number and you hear the inter nal dial tone. This allows you to talk to someone in the same room, without your caller hearing the conversation.

T o set PULSE dialling • Press the STO button then the # button. • Press the 1 button. • Enter the cur r ent system code. (Factor y setting is 0000. T o change it see page 16.) • Press the LNR button. • Press the buttons 0, 3, 3 . • Press the STO button to set pulse dialling.
RCL RCL 42 T o put an outside call on hold and speak to another , internal handset Y ou can make a consultation call to a colleague and retur n to your existing, outside caller . During the call: • Press the RCL button. Y ou hear a dial tone. Y our outside caller is on hold.
Setting the access pause Y ou can inser t a pause or change the length of a pause to suit dif ferent access codes. The handset must be switched ON. • Press the STO button. • Press # . • Press the 1 button • Enter the system code. (Factor y setting is 0000.
At t he h a nds et: • Press and hold down the 1 button together with the PWR button until the display shows 1– and flashing . • Enter the 4 digit system code. (Factor y setting is 0000. T o change it see page16.) • Press the # button. The beeps stop after about 10 seconds, and the display shows all the available handset numbers.
T o remove a handset r egistered at the base unit These steps can be taken from any register ed handset. • Press the STO button. • Press the # button. • Press the 7 then 2 . • Enter the system code. (Factor y setting is 0000. T o change it see page 16.
O p e r at i n g wit h a dd it i o nal b as e u n it s Diverse Executive and additional handsets may be used with up to four Diverse 1015 and/or Diverse 1010 base units. When planning to use a handset at more than one base unit, it is recommended that you: • Assign a number to each base station, from 1 to 4.
Ho w t o s et u p mu lt i pl e b as e u n it s an d h an d s e t s T o register additional Diverse 1015 handsets at more than one base unit Y ou can use up to six handsets on each Diverse base unit and up to four base stations with your Diverse handset to build up a comprehensive and easy-to -use cor dless telephone system.
T o set/clear the display of the base unit number on a handset The factor y setting is to display the number . This is useful if your handset is connected to more than one base unit. • Press the STO button. • Press the 3 button then the 6 button. The cur r ent setting is displayed.
T o set your handset for manual base selection Y ou can change automatic registration at a base unit to manual registration. So if you are in an area wher e the ranges of two base units overlap, you can specify which base unit (and which outgoing line) you prefer to use.
M a i nt e na nc e General Simply clean the handset and base unit with a damp cloth or an antistatic wipe. Never use household polish as this will damage your Diverse 1015.
Replacing handset batteries After a time, you may find that the handset batteries are r unning out of charge more quickly . This is a standar d sign of wear and the batteries will need replacing. Recommended batteries should have a power rating of 600m Ah 1.
The base unit or handset does not ring The ringer volume may be set too low . T o adjust the ringer volume at the handset, see page 17. Check that the telephone is plugged into the phone socket. Is the Diverse 1015 set up for ring priority at another handset? See page 40.
T e c h n ic a l i n for ma t i on 53 Environment Y our Diverse 1015 should be kept free of dust, moisture, high temperatur e, vibration and should not be exposed to direct sunlight. Do not stand it on carpets or other sur faces which generate fibres or place it in locations which prevent the fr ee flow of air over its sur faces.
