Y ou may also dial 112, which is valid in any countr y that is a member of the European Community . Y ou may not be able to make an emergency call in cer tain situations: • If the telephone line is disconnected.
5 Plan wher e you will put your BIG Button phone It should be within two metres of a phone socket. Do not stand it on carpets or other similar sur faces that generate fibres as this may r educe the ringing sound and clog inside mechanisms. Y our BIG Button phone can be positioned in three alter native ways: Flat on a table sur face.
6 Ringer volume Switch found on base of phone. Set the volume of the ringer to Either High, Low or Of f. Ringer tone select Switch found on base of phone. This switch allows you to select the pitch requir ed for the ringer . R1: For a low pitched tone.

8 Us i n g y o u r BIG Bu tt o n p h o n e T o make a call Lift the handset and listen for a dialling tone. Dial the number you requir e. T o end the call, replace the handset. 1 2 T o r eceive a call When the phone rings pick up the handset and speak.
9 Y our BIG Button phone has three ‘one-touch’ memor y buttons. These allow you to store three numbers that may be dialled at the touch of a button.
10 Lift the handset. Press the ‘one-touch’ memor y button under which the phone number is stored. The phone number is dialled automatically . Each memor y location can store a maximum of 21 digits (numbers). Y ou can write the name of the person with which you wish to associate the number on the label provided or per haps inser t a small photo.
11 Lift the handset. Press the QUICKDIAL button. Quickdial 6 Enter the number you want to store. Press the STORE button. The phone number is now stored. Please r eplace the handset. Repeat these steps for any other numbers you want to store, using a dif fer ent 0-9 location for each one.
12 Press the 0-9 location under which the number you requir e is stored. 13 T o use your Amplify button Press the Amplify button to tur n amplification on. Amplify – and + allows you to select an appropriate setting between nor mal and maximum. There ar e a total of four settings. The standard setting is for the amplify to be of f.
14 W al l- m o u nt i n g Y our BIG Button phone can be wall-mounted using the screws and wall plugs provided. Use the plinth of the BIG Button phone as your wall-mounting template to pencil on the wall a guide for the drill holes.
Feed the phone line through the bottom of the wall mounted plinth to allow the cable to rest flat against the wall. 15 Rotate the handset hook 180°, so that you can hang up the handset when the phone is wall- mounted.
16 T ec h ni ca l i n for ma t i o n All items of telephone equipment have a Ringer Equivalence Number (REN), which is used to calculate the number of items that may be connected to any one telephone line. Y our BIG Button phone has a REN of 1.5. A total REN of 4 is allowed from a single telephone line.
17 The goods have not been tampered with or repair ed by anyone other than BT , its staf f or agents. If a fault does occur in this product, and you bought the unit yourself, provided that you r etur n it to the place of purchase and produce your r eceipt, it will either be repair ed or replaced fr ee of charge.
