6 Intr oduction W elcome to the BlueAnt Q2: the voice c ontrolled smart Bluetooth headset for smartphone users. With the Q2 you can mak e outgoing calls and answer incoming calls using just y our voice, and you will always know who is calling without looking at y our phone because the Q2 will r ead out the caller’ s name or number .
ENGLISH 7 Char ge Y our Q2 Y our Q2 has been given an initial partial char ge to get you started, but for bes t results we rec ommend you fully char ge it using the supplied USB cable and adaptor . > Y ou should charge the Q2 whene ver it announces that the battery is V ery Low .
8 Pair the Q2 with your Phone T o use the Q2 you need to pair it with your phone. 1. Slide the hardwar e power switch acr oss to turn the Q2 on and then put the Q2 in your ear . 2. If this is the fi rst time you have used the Q2 it will go straight to pairing mode.

10 W earing Y our Q2 Y ou can wear your Q2 in either ear . For best results: > Rotate the ear gel as shown her e. > Make sur e that the headset is angled towar ds your mouth. Changing the Ear Bud Y our Q2 is supplied with a choice of ear buds in differ ent sizes so that you can choose the one that fi ts best.
ENGLISH 11 Use Y our V oice to Contr ol the Q2 The Q2 is voice c ontrolled. Simpl y click the MFB and wait for the Q2 to ask you to Say A Command . Then immediately say one of the v oice commands loudly and cl early .
12 Use Y our V oice to Make Phone Calls Click the MFB and wait for the Q2 to ask you t o Say A Command , then: > Say Phone Commands to activate the voic e dial feature on your phone (if y our phone supports voice dialing). > Say Redial to r edial the last number you called on your phone.
ENGLISH 13 Use Y our V oice to Acc ess the W orld Y our Q2 pro vides you with voice acces s to the world by giving you stock quotes, news, sports updates, traffi c information, weather , and more. T o acces s this function: 1. Click the MFB and wait for the Q2 to ask you t o Say A Command .
14 List of V oice Commands When you want to do something, just click the MFB , wait f or the Q2 to ask you to Say A Command , and then say one of the foll owing commands: > Am I Connected? — The Q2 will check if your phone is connected, and att empt to connect if it is not.
ENGLISH 15 > Redial — Redials the last outgoing call made on the connect ed phone. > Sensitivity Level — Confi gures the sensitivity of the Q2’ s voice r ecognition. > LED Light — T urns the LEDs on or off. When the LEDs ar e set to off, they still light up when you turn the Q2 on or off, but will not fl ash at other times.
16 T ransferring y our Phonebook Contacts to the Q2 Y our Q2 uses T ext to Speech technol ogy (TTS) to read out the name of the person who is calling you.
ENGLISH 17 3. Select the option on your phone t o “send” or “beam” contacts, business car ds, or v-cards via Bluetooth, and select the Q2 fr om the list of Bluetooth devices. See y our phone’s manual for help with this step. Note: some phones do not support phonebook transfer s at all.
18 Listening to Audio The Q2 supports A2DP audio str eaming. If your phone supports the A2DP profi le then simply st art playing music or any other audio (including turn-by-turn directions from a GPS application on your phone) and it will automatic ally transfer to the Q2.
ENGLISH 19 Alternativel y , use the hardware swit ch to turn the Q2 off whenever you ar e not using it. The Q2 will automaticall y reconnect to your phone if the phone is in r ange when you switch the Q2 on. Depending on your phone, this may take a f ew seconds.
20 Note: Only the primary phone can play music thr ough the Q2 via A2DP . Multiple Calls (Call W aiting)* If you r eceive an incoming call whil e you are alr eady on a call the Q2 will play a tone to alert you. > Hold V ol + for about 1 second to put your curr ent call on hold and answer the incoming call.

24 Phone Specifi c Tips and T ricks Android > Please note that v oice dialing over Bluetooth was added to the Andr oid Operating System in version 2.2. It will not be possibl e to use Phone Commands unless y our Android device is running Android OS 2.

26 T roubl eshooting I Cannot T ransfer my Phonebook to the Q2 In order t o transfer your phonebook to the Q2, your phone must support either the Phonebook Acces s Profi le (PBAP), A T commands, or the Object Push Profi le (OPP).

28 The Q2 Reads Out the Wrong Name If the Q2 is reading out the wr ong name then it is likely that y ou have changed the contacts in your phone without updating the contacts on the Q2. If y ou make any changes to your phonebook, use the Update Phonebook command to c opy these changes to the Q2.
