INSTALLATION (continued) 3 NOTE: This equipment must be installed to comply with applicable federal, state an d local plum bing codes and ordinanc es. WARNING: SHOCK HAZARD Brewer must be properly grounded to prevent possible shock hazard. DO NOT assume a plumbing line will provide suc h a ground.
4 BREWER OVERA L L CHEC K-OUT BREWER CHECK-OUT These checks should be performed: • When th e brew er is instal led • During any service call on the brew er • During any subseq ue nt follow-up call IMPORTANT: Tank must be full of water bef ore pressing POWER key " ON ".
BREWING COFFEE PREPARATION Place one (1) genuin e Bloomfield paper filter in the brew chamber. Add a p re-measured amount of fresh co ffee gr ounds. Gently shake the brew cham ber to level the bed of grounds. Slide the brew chamber into place under th e brew head.
CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS PROCEDURE: Clean Coffee Brew er PRECAUTIONS: Disconnect brew er from electric powe r. Allow brewer to cool. FREQUENCY: Daily TOOLS: Mild Detergent, Clean Soft Cloth or Sponge Bristle Brush, Bottle Brush 1. Disconnect brewer from electric power.
THEORY OF OPERATION 7 POUR-OVER FEATURE Pouring any amount of cold wate r into the pour-over opening and into the basin pan forces an identical amount of hot water out of the tank and through the spray head into the brew chamber.
The faucet water coil is submerged in the hot water tank an d draws heat fr om the brew water. Faucet water flows through the bypass side of the water inlet and is not cont ro lled by the solenoid valve. The fauc et is at supply water press ure any time the faucet shut-off valve is O PEN .
THEORY OF OPERATION (continued) Heat Control Diagram The heating elements are energized when line power is applied to the el ement term inals. Water temperature is sensed by a thermobulb inserted in to the wa ter tank. This te mpe rature signal is fed to the thermost at by a capillary tube.

SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS 22 TEMPERATURE ADJUSTMENT Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF. Remove top panel. Pull vent tube out of tank lid an d insert a thermometer of know n accuracy in vent hole. Reconnect brewer to e lectrical po wer. Place an empty decanter under brew chamber.
SERVICING INST RUCTIONS (continued) 23 IMPORTA NT: Water pressure must be betwee n 20 p.s.i and 90 p.s.i. flowing pressure. If wate r pressure exceeds this value, or if water pressure varies g reatly, a pressure regulator must be installed in the w ater supply lin e.
24 SERVICING INSTRUCTIONS (continued) REPLACE SOLENOID Symptom: Automatic brewer will not flow water; or, automatic brewer d rips continuously from brew head. Unplug power cord or turn circuit breaker OFF . Turn OFF and disconnect w a ter supply from brewer inlet fitting.
25 SERVICING INST RUCTIONS (continued) IMPORTA NT: When replacing water faucet coil, also rep l ace seal gaskets. NOTE : Any ab ra sion or roughness on the flat end of the seat cup will re quire replacing the seat cup: Work the seat cup out of the bonnet and off of the end of the stem.
26 CA UTIO N - CH EMICA L BURN HA ZAR D Deliming chem icals are caustic. W ear ap pr op riate protective gloves and goggles during this procedure. Never siphon deliming chemicals or solutions by mou th . This operation should only be perfo rm e d by qualifie d an d ex- perienced service personnel.
27 7. Set the tank back into the bre wer. Reassem ble the tank lid to the water tank. Mak e sure the gasket is properly in place, then reinstall the hold-down strap. 8. Reinstall wiring to h eating element and thermostat. Rein stall the hi-limit thermostat (if removed).
