By integrating DSL and NA T , you are provided with ease of installation and high-speed, shared Internet access. The P- 660HN- T1H is also a complete security solu tion with a robust firew all and content filtering.

The Status screen also provides detailed information from DHCP and stat istics f rom bandwidth management, and traffic.

Use these screens to conf igure your Z yXEL Device for Int ernet access. A WAN (Wide Area Network) connection is an outside connection to another network or the Internet.

IP packets are routed betw een the Etherne t interface and the WAN i nterface and then formatted so that they can be understood in a bridged environment.

Please refer to RFC 1483 for more detailed information. 6.4.2 Multiplexing There are two conventions to identify what protocols the virtual circuit (VC) is carrying.

Chapter 6 WAN Setup P-660HN-T1H User’s Guide 85 Sustained Cell Rate (SCR) is the mean cell rate of each bursty traff ic source. It specifies the maximum average r ate at wh ich cells can be sent ov er the virtual connection. SCR may not be greater than the PCR.

P-660HN-T1H User’s Guide 87 C HAPTER 7 LAN Setup 7.1 Overview A Local Area Network (LAN) is a shared communicat ion system to which many networking devices are connected. It is usually located in one immediate area such as a building or floor of a building.

RIP Direction RIP (Routing Information Protocol, RFC 1058 and RFC 1389) allows a router to exchange routing information with other routers.

There are two sepa ra te IP networks, on e inside the LAN network and t he ot her outside th e WAN network as shown next.
