G2000 GB-4 1. For safe operation W ARNING This chainsaw has been especially designed for tree maintenance and should therefor e only be used by trained operators when working on trees.

G2000 GB-9 G B Open the box and install the guide bar and the saw chain on the power unit as follows: The saw chain has very sharp edges. Use thick pro- tective gloves for safety . 1. Pull the guard towar ds the fr ont handle to check that the chain brake is not engaged.
G2000 GB-10 4. Pour in the rest of gasoline and agitate again for at least one minute. As some oils may be difficult to agitate de- pending on oil ingredients, sufficient agitation is nec- essary for the engine to last long.
G2000 GB-11 G B 6. When engine has ignited, first push in the choke knob to the first-stage position and then pull the starter again to start the engine. 7. Allow the engine to warm up with the throttle lever pulled slightly . Keep clear of the saw chain as it will start rotating upon starting of engine.

Continuous opera- tion with the brake engaged will generate heat from the clutch and may cause trouble. • At machine inspection prior to each job, check the operating condition of the brake following the steps.
G2000 GB-13 G B ■ FELLING A TREE 1. Decide the felling direction considering the wind, lean of the tree, location of heavy branches, ease of completing the task after felling and other factors. 2. While clearing the area ar ound the tree, arrange a good foothold and retr eat path.
G2000 GB-14 3. Oil filter 1. With a wir e hook, take out the oil filter from the feed- ing port. 2. W ash the filter with gasoline. When returning the filter , use a pinch and make sure that the pipe is not folded and the filter is placed at the bottom of the tank as shown in the picture.

G2000 GB-16 9. T r oubleshooting Guide Case 1. Starting failure Make sure the icing pr evention system is not working. Check fuel for water or substandard mix- ture. Replace with proper fuel. Check for engine flooding. Check spark ignition. Remove and dry the spark plug.
