Chapter 1 Introduction 1.1 Introducing the BiP AC 7300VGP series Thank you for purchasing the BiP AC 7300VGP seri es ADSL2+ Router by Billion. Y our new router is an all-in-one unit that combines an A.

Chapter 2 Product Overview Standards-Based Technology The BiP AC 7300VGP Wireless Router utilizes the 802.1 1g standard. The IEEE 802.1 1g standard is an extension of the 802.1 1b standard. It increases the dat a rate up to 54Mbps* within the 2.4GHz band, utilizing OFDM technology .

Chapter 3 Installation Y ou can configure the BiP AC 7300VGP se ries router through the convenient and user-friendly interface of a web browser . Most popular operating systems such as Linux and Windows 98/NT/2000/XP/Me include a web br owser as a standard application.
Configuring a PC in Windows XP 1. Go to Start / Control Panel (in Classic View) . In the Control Panel, double-click on Network Connections 2. Double-click Local Area Connection . 3. In the Local Area Connection Status window, click Properties . 4. Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and click Properties .
5. Select the Obtain an IP address automatically and the Obtain DNS server address automatically radio buttons. 6. Click OK to finish the configuration. Configuring a PC in Windows 2000 1. Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel . In the Control Panel, double-click on Network and Dial-up Connections .

3.2 Factory Default Settings Before configuring the BiP AC 7300VGP series router , you need to know the following default settings. Web Interface: Username: admin Password: admin LAN Device IP Settings: IP Address: 192.168.1.254 Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.
3.4 Information from your ISP Before configuring this device, you have to c heck with your ISP (Internet Service Provider) what kind of service is provided such as PPPoE, PPPoA, RFC1483, or IPoA. Gather the information as illustrated in t he following table and keep it for reference.
3.5 Configuring with your (802.1 1g) ADSL2+ Router 1. T o configure this device, you must have IE 5.0 / Netscape 4.5 or above installed 2. Y ou may configure the router for Internet access in two ways: Eas y Si g n-On ( EZSO ) Web Confi g uration Easy Sign-On: User just installs all of cables and uses the br owser to surf Internet.

Chapter 4 Configuration Once you have logged on to your BiP AC 7300VGP series V oIP ADSL Router via your web browser , you can begin to set it up according to your requirements.
4.1 S t atus 27.
Device Information Host Name: Provide a name for the router for i dentification purposes. Host Name lets you change the router name. System Up-T ime: Records system up-time.
Current time: Set the current time. See the T ime Zone section for more information. Hardware V ersion: Chipset version Sof tware V ersion: Firmware version Bootrom V ersion: Bootrom version MAC Address: The LAN MAC address Home URL: Connects to the Home W ebsite.
4.1.1 ARP T able The router ’ s ARP (Address Resolution Protocol ) T able shows the mappi ng of Internet (IP) addresses to Ethernet (MAC) addresses. This is a quick way to determine the MAC address of the network interface of your PCs to use with the router ’ s Firewall – MAC Address Filter function.
4.1.2 Wireless Association IP Address: It is IP Address of wireless client that join this network. MAC: The MAC address of wireless client. 31.

4.1.5 System Log Display system logs accumulated up to the present time. Y ou can trace historical information with this function. 34.
4.1.6 Security Log This screen displays security log information. If a hacker attacks your server , he is isolated by the firewall function and the router records related information.
4.1.7 VoIP Log This screen displays V oIP log information. An y V oIP encountered by the router are logged to this window . 36.
4.2 Quick S t art For detailed instructions on configuring W AN settings, see the WA N section of this manual. The information you need for the Quick S tart wizard to get you online are your login (of ten in the form of username@ispname ), your p assword, and the encapsulation type.
Connection Encap sulation: Select the encapsulation type your ISP uses or choose “Auto Scan”. Click Star t to begin scanning for encapsulation types of fered by your ISP . If the scan is successful, you are presented wit h a list of supported options.
Optional Setting IP Address: Type your ISP assigned IP address in the IP Address text box. Subnet Mask: Enter a subnet mask in dotted decimal notation. Default Gateway: You must specify a gateway IP address (supplied by your ISP) DNS Obt ain DNS automatically: Select this check box to use DNS.
4.3 Configuration Click this item to access the following sub- items that configur e the ADSL router: LAN, W AN, System, Firewall, QoS, V irtual Server , Advanced and V oIP .
4.3.1 LAN (Local Area Network) 4.3.1 LAN (Local Area Network) A Local Area Network (LAN) is a shared comm unication system to which many computers are attached and is limited to t he immediate area, usually the same building or floor of a building.
4.3.1.2 Wireless (7300VGP only ) Mode: 802.1 1b + g (Mixed mode), 802.1 1b and 802. 1 1g. The factory default is 802.1 1 b + g. ESSID: Enter the unique ID given to the Access Point (AP), which is already built-in t o the router ’s wireless interface.

T o disable the router ’s DHCP Server , check Disabled and click Next then click Apply . When the DHCP Server is disabled you need to manually assign a fixed IP address to each PC on your network, and set the default gateway fo r each PC to the IP address of the router (the default is 192.
If you check DHCP Relay Agent and click Next then you must enter t he IP address of the DHCP server which assigns an IP address back to the DHCP client in the LAN. Use this function only if advised to do so by your network administr ator or ISP . Click Apply to enable this function.
4.3.2 W AN (Wide Area Network) A W AN (Wide Area Network) is an outside connec tion to another network or the Internet. There are three items within the W AN section: ISP , DNS and ADSL. 4.3.2.1 ISP The factory default is PPPoE. If your IS P uses this access protocol, click Edit to input other parameters as below .

4.3.3 System There are six items within the System section: Time Zone, Remote Access, Firmware Upgrade, Backup/Restore, Rest art and User Management. 4.3.3.1 T ime Zone The router does not have a real time clock on board; instead, it uses the Simple Network T ime Protocol (SNTP) to get the current time from an SNTP server out side your network.
4.3.3.2 Remote Access T o temporarily permit remote administration of the router (i.e. from outside your LAN), select a time period the router permits remote access for and click Enable. Y ou may change other configuration options for th e web administration interface using Device Management options in the Advanced section of the GUI.
4.3.3.4 Backup / Restore These functions allow you to save and backup your router ’s current settings to a file on your PC, or to restore a previously saved backup. This is useful if you wish to experiment with different settings, knowing that you have a backup handy in the case of any mist akes.
If you wish to restart the rout er using the factory default se ttings (for example, af ter a firmware upgrade or if you have saved an incorrect configuration), select Factory Default Settings to reset to factory default settings.
Y ou can change the user ’s p assw ord , whether their account is active and Va l i d , as well as add a comment to each user account. These opt ions are the same when creating a user account, with the exception that once creat ed you cannot change the username.
4.3.4 Firewall Firewall and Access Control Y our router includes a full SPI (S tateful Packet Inspection) firewall for controlling Internet access from your LAN, as well as helping to prevent attacks from hackers.

Destination Port: Check the TCP or UDP packet’s destination port number(s). Schedule time: User can setup the time to use the packet filter. A ttention If the DHCP server option is enabled, you must.
Active: Select Yes from the drop down list box to enable MAC address filtering. Action When Matched: Select “Drop” or “Forward”. Log: Choose “Y es” if you wish to generate logs when the filer rule is applied to a packet. MAC Address: Enter the MAC addresses you wish to manage.
4.3.4.3 Intrusion Detection Check “Enable” if you wish to detect intruder s accessing your computer without permission. The router automatically detects and blocks a DoS (Denial of Service) attack if a user enables this function.
Intrusion Detection: Check “Enable” if you wish to detect intruders accessing your computer without permission. Alert Mail: Select this check box to use Alert Mail. Alert Mail Time: Set the time for receiving Alert mail. Your E-Mail: Set your email address.
Active: Select Yes fr om the drop down list box to enable or disable the URL Filter feature. Always Block: Select to always check URL filter ru les (i.e. at all hours of the day). Block from: S pecify the time period to check URL filter rules (e.g. during work hours).
Domains Filtering: Checks the domain name in URLs accessed against your list of domains to block or allow . If it matches, the URL request is sent (T rusted) or dropped (Forbidden). The checking procedure is: 1. Check the domain in the URL to determine if it is in the tr usted list.
4.3.5 QoS (Quality of Service) Quality of Service Introduction If you’ve ever found your ‘net’ speed has slow ed to a crawl because another family member is using a P2P file sharing prog ram, you’ll underst and w hy the Quality of Service features in Billion’ s routers is such a breakthrough for home users and office users .

4.3.6 V irtual Server In TCP/IP and UDP networks a port is a 16-bi t number used to identify which application program (usually a server) incoming connecti ons should be delivered to. V oice Activity Detection: The voice activity detection (V AD) is a component in the DSP software that examines a caller's incoming signal and determines if the signal cont ains significant energy and is likely to be speech rather than a click. Default Codec: Default voice codec.
Prefix: Numbers defined in this field will be in serted at the beginning of the dialing pattern. Maximum input length is 6 digit s. Min.: Minimum digits user can key in. Max. : Maximum digits user can key in. Del.: Number of digit defined in this field will be removed from the dialing p attern.

4.4 Save Configuration to Flash After changing the router ’s conf iguration settings, you must sa ve all of the configuration parameters to FLASH to avoid losing them after turning of f or resetting your router . Click Save to write your new configuration to FLASH.

5.2.1 SIP Settings Click [V oIP SIP setting] for configuration This example is registering to FWD in the SI P setting. If you want to add other provider or edit provider rule, you can follow steps below to change it. 1. Choose the functions of [Interface] offering by Service Provider .
5.2.2 LINE Settings Click [V oIP Line setting] for configuration 1. T o enter the display name for the caller while making a SIP call 2. Input the user phone number , username and password that you registered from FreeWorld Dialup. 3. Click Dial to connection the V oIP service provider Click [Apply] button and save your configuration.
5.3 How to make a call from FXS to FXO This operation have to define a prefix number for opening FXO port that while user dial prefix number , the IAD will identify it and open FXO port to route into the PSTN. For example, after dialing “99” you will hear the se cond dial tone.
