4 DESCRIPTION OF THE APPLIANCE BUILT-IN ELECTRIC MULTIFUNCTION DOUBLE OVEN Your built-in oven comprises of a co nventional second oven and dual grill in the top compa rt ment.

7 BEFORE USING THE APPLIANCE RATING PLATE This is situated on the l ower front frame of the appliance and can be se en upon opening the door. Alternatively the rating plate may also be found on the back or top of some models (where applicable). The appliance must be protected by a suitably rated fuse or circuit breake r.

9 TO CANCEL THE COUNTDOWN If you change your mind and want to can cel the 'Countdown', press the Ti me Selector button until the 'Countdown' indicator ne on flashes then depress the decrease control (-) until 0 0.00 shows in the display as Fig.
10 B) TO SET THE TI MER TO SWITCH OFF ONLY i) Ensure the electricity suppl y is switched ON and that the correct time is displayed, e.g. 9.00 a.m. as Fig. 9. ii) Set the oven control to the required fun ction and temperature. iii) Place food in the oven.
11 OTHER FUNCTIONS CHILD SAFETY DEVICE To avoid children switching on the ove n it is possible to lock the oven controls. THE CHILD SAFETY DEVICE The oven cannot be used from the mo ment the child safety device has b een switched on. ACTIVATING THE CHILD SAFETY DEVICE • The appliance must be on but no oven fun ction must be selected.
12 TOP OVEN FULL WIDTH DUAL GRILL CAUTION – Acces sible parts may be hot when the grill is in use. Young children should be kept away. The grill is a dual circuit grill which means that the full area of the grill can be used or for economy purposes, the centre section only can be used when cooking smaller quantities of food.
13 THE GRILL PAN AND HANDLES The grill pan is supplied wit h removable handl es. 1. To attach the handles, place the wi rework under the cut out in the p an so that the metal plate hooks over the top of the grill pan. Ensure the handles are positiv ely located.
14 • Preheat the grill on full se tting for a few minutes to seal meat or for toasting. Adju st the heat setting and the shelf positio n as necessary during cooking.
15 THE TOP OVEN The top oven is the smaller of th e two ovens. It is heated by elements in the top and bottom of the oven . It is designed for cooking smaller q uantities of food. It gives especially goo d results if used to cook fruit cakes, sweet and savour y flans or qui ch e.
16 TO FIT THE TOP OVEN SHELF The shelf should be fitted with the straight rods uppermost on the fram e and the forms to wards the back of the oven. To remove a shelf slid e the shelf toward s you until the shelf stop is reached. Tilt shelf up at the front so that the stops clear the si de supports.

21 THE MAIN OVEN The fan oven is particul arly suitable for cooki ng larger quantities of food. The advantages of fan oven coo king are: PREHEATING The fan oven quickly reaches its tem perature, so it is not usually necessary to preheat the oven.

23 PIZZA This setting can be used for foods such as pizza where base browning and cri spness are required. The top and lower eleme nts operate in conjunction with the oven fan. USING PIZZA • The oven must be switched on before setting any cooking function or prog ra mme.
24 THE CONVENTIONAL OVEN This form of cooking gives you the opportunity t o cook without the fan in operation. It is particularly suitable for dishes which require extra base browning su ch as pizzas, quiches a nd flans. Gratins, lasagnes and hotpots whi ch require extra top browning also cook well in the co nventional oven.
25 HINTS AND TIPS • Single level cooking gi ves best re sults. If yo u require more than one level of coo king use the main fan oven. • The middle shelf allows for the best heat distribution. To increase base b rowning simply lower the shelf po sition.
26 MAIN OVEN COOKING CHART The oven temperatures are i ntended as a guide only. It may be necessary to incre ase or decrease the temperatures by 10°C to suit individual preferen ce s and requirements.
27 ROASTING CHART INTERNAL TEMPERATURES – Rare : 50-60°C; Medium : 60-70°C; Well done : 70-80 °C MEAT TEMPERATURE COOKING TIME Beef/ Beef boned 160-180°C 20-35 minutes per ½kg (1lb) and 20-35 m.
28 THERMAL GRILLING Thermal Grilling offers an altern ative method of cooking food items normally associate d with conventional grilling. Thermal Grilling helps to minimise cooking smells in the kitchen and allo ws you to grill with the oven door closed.
29 THINGS TO NOTE • The oven light will illuminate. • The heat indicator neons will flash until the oven has reached the desired temperature and then stop, an audible si gnal will sound. When the oven has been switch ed off the bars that are still lit indicate the remaining residu al heat in the oven.
30 DEFROST FEATURE This main oven function enables you to defrost most foods without heat faster than some conventiona l methods as the oven fan circulate s air around the food. It is particularly suitable for delicate frozen foods which are to be served cold e.
31 MAIN OVEN KEEP WARM This setting allows you to warm plates or keep warm pre-cooked dishes prior to serving. USING KEEP WARM • The oven must be switched on b efore setting any cooking function or prog ra mme. • Press the Oven Cavity selector until the main oven cavity is illuminated.
32 MAIN OVEN BASE HEAT FINISHING This function uses the lower elem ent to give single level cooking. This is part icularly suitable for dishes which require extra base bro wning such as pizzas, quiches and flans. 33 CARE AND CLEANING Before cleaning al wa ys allo w the cooling fan to cool the appliance do wn before switching off at the electricity supply . CLEANING MATERIALS Before using any cleaning materials on you r appliance, check that they are suitable and that their use is recommended by th e manufacturer.
34 CLEANING INSI DE THE OVENS The sides and ba ck of the grill/second oven and m ain oven compartments are coat ed with a special Stayclean coating. They sh ould not be clea ned manually. The vitreous enamel main oven base and grill/seco nd oven compartment base can be cleaned using normal oven cleane rs with care.
35 TO REMOVE THE OUTER DOOR GLASS 1. Open the oven door slight ly to gain access to the two cross head scre ws on the top of the ove n door. 2. Loosen the two screws usi ng a Pozidrive screwdrive r. 3. Holding the door glass securely in place with one hand remove the scre ws and washers with the other hand.
36 CLEANING THE GRILL AND OVEN FURNITURE All removable parts, except the grill pan handle can be washed in the dishwa sher. The grill pan, grill pan grid, and o ven shelves may be cleaned using a soap impreg nated steel wool pa d. Soaking first in hot soapy water will make cleaning easier.
37 SOMETHING NOT WORKING Please carry out the following checks on your appliance before calling a S e rvice Engineer. It may be that the problem is a simple one which you can solve y ourself without the expense of a service call.

41 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNINGS • This appliance must be installed by a qualified electrician/comp etent perso n. Safety may be impaired if installation is not carried out in accordance with these instructions. • This appliance must be earthed.
42 CHOICE OF ELECTRICAL CONNECTION • There are three possible wa ys to connect your appliance. In each case the appliance should be operated using at least 6m m 2 twin core and earth PVC insulated.

44 HOW TO FINISH UNPACKING • Place packed appliance next to the space in which it will be installed. • Remove the appliance packi ng except for bottom tray which should be left in position until the appliance is ready to be fitted into its cabinet.
45 CONNECTING TO THE MAINS TERMINAL Warning: This appliance must be earthed. • We recommend you use a new length of 6mm 2 twin core and earthed cable to ensure you r safety. • Make connection as shown i n Fig. 7 by proceeding as follows:- • Preform wires to the appropriate shape to suit fitting into the mains terminal block.
46 FITTING INTO THE CABINET IMPORTANT: Ensure that the oven is switched off at the wall before any further work is carried out. • Using a tape measure establish the internal width of the cabinet. Refer to page 40 if greater than 565mm. • Position the appliance in front of the cabinet.
