9 Heat settings selecting For setting and changing the heat setting ( u to Ç ) for the selected cooking zone. Raise the heat set ting using the heat sett ing selector sensor panel . Lower the heat setting usin g the heat setting selector sensor panel .
10 Switching the casser ole zone on and of f 1. Set the desired heat setting. 2. T o switch the casser ole zone on or off, place your finger flat on the “casser ole zone” sensor field until the indicator light illuminates or goes off. Switching of f a cooking zone 1.
11 Residual Heat Indicator When an individual cooking zone or the entir e hob is switched of f, any re- s i d u a l h e a t i s s h o w n w i t h a n h (for “Hot”) in the digital display for the ap- propriate cooking zones.
12 Cooking using the auto- matic warm up function All of the cooking surface’ s four cooking zones can be adjusted to any of nine settings, and ar e equipped with an automatic warm up function: – ¿ , lowest heat setting – Ç , highest heat setting – a , automatic warm up functi on.
13 Child safety lock Y ou can use the child sa fety lock to safeguar d against unwanted use of the cooking surface. Switching on the child safety lock T o be able to switch o n the chil d safety lock the ap- pliance must be swit ched on, but all the cooking zones must be switched off.
14 Switching of f the child safety lock 1. Switch on the appliance. When the child safety device has be en activated, l will be displayed. 2. T ouc h the sensor field for appr ox. three sec- onds. An acoustic signal wil l sound as confirma tion. 3. T ouch any heat setting sensor field .
15 Safety cut-out The cooking zone(s) for which you want to use the safety cut-out function must be switched on. 1. Using the timer sensor panel , select the cooking zone for which the safety cu t-out is to be set.
16 Switching off the safety cut-out function befor e it has come to an end There ar e two ways to switch of f the safety cut-out function before it has come to an end.
17 Blocking/unblocking the contr ol panel At any stage of the cooking pr ocess the contr ol pan- el, with the exception of the “On/Off” sensor panel, can be blocked in order to pr event the settings being changed e.g. by wiping over the panel with a cloth.
18 Uses, tables and tips Pans • Y ou ca n recognise good pans by their bases. The base should be as thick and flat as possible. • Pay particular attention when buying new pans to the diameter of the base. Manufac turers oft en give only the diameter of the upper rim.
19 Advice on cooking with and without automatic warm up The automatic wa rm u p function is suit a- ble for: • dishes that start of f cold, are heated up at high power and do not need to be continually watched when cooking on the se lected heat se tting, • dishes that are put in a ho t frying pan.
20 Settings for Cooking on the Zones The figures in the following t able are benchmark fig- ures. The switch setting r equired for a certain cook- ing method depends on the quality of the pans and the type and amount of food.
21 Cleaning and car e Hob 1 Important: Cleaning agents must not come into contact with the hot ceramic glass sur- face! All cleaning ag ents must be removed with plenty of clean water after cleaning b.
22 Stubborn Soiling 1. T o r e m o v e f o o d t h a t h a s b o i l e d o v e r o r s t u b b o r n splashes, use a glass scraper . 2. Place the glass scrape r at an angle to the ceramic glass surface. 3. Remove soiling by sliding the blade. 3 Y ou ca n obtain glass scrapers and ceramic glass cleaners fr om your local Service For ce Centre.
23 What to do if … Rectifying faults It is possible that faults have been caused by a minor error , which you can correct yourself with the help of the following instructions. Do not attempt any further repairs if the following instructions do not help in each specific case.
24 Installation Instructions 1 Important! The new appliance may only be in- stalled and connected by a r egistere d spe- cialist . Please observe this instruction, otherwise the warranty will not cover any damage that may occur .
