9 Getting Star ted Satellite or Digital Cable T elevision Ser vice The iCEBOX supports satellite and digi tal cable television ser vice; how- ever , wh en using satellite ser vice, th e iCEBOX remote or keyboard cannot be used to change channels. Continue to use your existing remo te control with the set-top box.

If no connection is established when you first go to Intern et Mode, see Configuring a Wired Broadband Connection on page 35 for more information.
FlipScreen Owner’ s Manual 12 Wireless Broadband Connec tivity There are two ways to connect the iC EBOX to yo ur wireless network: • Using an approved w ireless PCMCIA Network card; or , • Using a wireless bridge connecte d to the ethernet PCMCIA card.
13 Getting Star ted Dial-Up Connectivity T o connect to a dial-up Internet prov ider , you will need to use a PCMCIA modem card equ ipped with an RJ-11 phone jack. Note: The iCEBOX does not cu rrently support any ISPs that require downloading or installing software.

In addi- tion, many digital phone manufactur ers offer inexpens ive adapters that plug into the digital phone line and conver t it to an analog line.
15 Getting Star ted T o Add Connected Appliances 1. On your iC EBOX, go to My Ki tchen Mode by pressing the Mode X button on the remote or keyboard. 2. Open the My Kitchen Options Menu, by pressing the Options button on the remote or keyboard. 3. On the My Kitchen Options Menu, select Add Applianc e .

17 Using the iCEBOX Controls Using the iCEBOX Controls Before turning on your iCEBOX FlipScre en for the first time, take a moment to familiarize yourself with the cont rols. When you turn your iCEBOX on for the first time, it will be in T elevision Mode.

19 Using the iCEBOX Controls Remote and Keyboard The remote and keyboard have simi lar controls—what works on one will work on the other . Figure 8 shows th e layout of the remote buttons. The layout for the keyboard is similar unless other wise noted.

FlipScreen Owner’ s Manual 26 Adjusting the Image and Sound In any mode (see Using the iCEBOX Modes on page 29), you can adjust aspects of the image and the sound that you r iCEBOX produces. Once made, these adjustments are in effect for all modes. The following table sho ws which image adjustments are available in each mode.
27 Using the iCEBOX Controls Stylus & T ouch Screen While in Internet Mode, you can use the stylus to tap links, select items, and scroll pages. Always use the stylus rather than a finger , fingernail or other implement.

41 Using the iCEBOX Modes Radio Mode With the iCEBOX, you can listen to your favorite FM Radio stations. The iCEBOX can receive radio signals from either the included FM Antenna or your cable ser vice, if it is offered. If you want to listen to your local radio stations, we recommend using the FM Antenna.
