3 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Precautions 1. A void excessive heat, humidity , dust and vibration K eep the unit away fr om locations where it is likely t o be exposed to high temperatures or humidity — such as near radiators, stov es, etc.
4 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Front and rear panel Control panel ■ Channel control section In this section, you can adjust equalization (fre- quency response), volume level, effect and moni- tor output levels for the input signal of eac h channel.
5 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual 6 Effect control (EFFECT) For eac h channel, this contr ols the amount of sig- nal that is sent to the EFFECT bus. The signal of the EFFECT bus is sent to the EFFECT jack (input/output panel A ). It is also sent to the built-in effect when the ON switch P in the EFFECT section is turned on.
6 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual ■ Master control section In this section, you can adjust the final level of the outputs. E MONI 1 (monitor 1) fader The MONI 1 fader adjusts the final level of the signal sent from the MONIT OR 1 bus to the MONI 1 jack (input/output panel 9 ).
7 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual ■ Digital effect section This section enables you t o turn the built-in digi- tal effect on/off and select the effect type. M MONI 1/2 (monitor 1/2) control This knob adjusts the level of the r eturn signal that is sent from the built-in digital effect to the MONIT OR 1/2 buses.
8 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual U LEVEL controls These knobs enable you t o adjust the level of the signals input from the mix er section to the po wer amp section. Rotating the knob clockwise will raise the level of the input signal. U se a screw- driver of a w idth of 3mm or less to adjust the knob .
9 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Input/output panel 1 Channel input jacks (MIC, LINE) 1~8 These are the input jacks for channels 1~8. By using the GAIN co ntrol (contr ol panel 1 ) you can c onnect an y of the jacks t o a wide r ange of sour ces, from mics to line-level devices (including synthesizers and rh y thm mac hines).
10 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual 3 Channel input jacks 9~12A Channel input jacks 9~12B These are the input jacks for channels 9/10~11/12 and are used to c onnect to the st ereo output jacks of electr onic instruments, cassette decks, or CD play ers. U se the A/B switch (control panel 2 ) to select phone jacks (A) or phono jacks (B).
11 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Rear panel 1 SPEAKERS (speaker output) jacks Speakers can be c onnected t o these jacks. The ty pe of sig nals output, the number of speak- ers you can c onnect, and acc eptable impedance differ depending on the setting of the P ower amp select switch (contr ol panel V ).

13 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Basic operation Connecting microphones and instruments 1 Before connecting mics or instruments, make sure that the power of all equip- ment (where applicable) is turned off. Also make sure that each channel fader and the faders in the master section are turned down.
14 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual Example setups This section pro vides some ways in which the EMX2000 can be used, and explains c onnections and operation. As a band P A Her e is an example of using the EMX2000 as a small P A for a band. In this example, the monitor speakers ar e being sent a mix that is independent of the MAIN speak er mix.

16 EMX2000—Owner’s Manual ■ Sending an independent mix to the monitor speakers 1 Set the MONI 1 or MONI 2 fader to the “ 10 ” position. 2 Raise the MONI 1 or MONI 2 controls for the channels that you wish to hear from the monitor speakers. 3 Use the MONI 1 or MONI 2 fader of the master section to adjust the overall vol- ume.
