T o install the softw are: 1. St art Microsoft Windo ws and make s ure that no o ther applica tions are running.

If you choose not to accept the license agreem ent, the inst allation will terminate and the P ape rP ort software will not be installed.

Scanning 16 Xerox Travel Scanner 100 User’s Guide Scanning Y ou have sev eral diff erent scanning options with your X erox scanner. Each method scans equally well, so use the one with appropriat e option s f or the item you are sc anning.
Xerox Travel Scanner 100 User’s Guide 17 Scanning Sc anning using One T ouch One T ouch is your main sc anning inte rf ace f or using the scan ner. Placing a page in the scanner automatically starts the scanner and sends the imag e to the destination selected in the One T ouch properties .

T urn AutoLaunch Off/On If you wa nt to sc an f rom One T ouch button panel on screen, or to be able to place a page in the sca nner and wait until you are ready to initiate the sc an, you ca n turn the AutoLaunch f eatur e off.

The button consists of: a Destination Applic ation , a Scan C onfiguration , and a File Fo r m a t .

F or example, if you are scanning a letter with a red watermark, you c an choose to filter out the red so the scanned letter just shows the text and not the red watermark.

Ap propriate f ormat options and file types are a vailable f or the type of Destination Ap plication selected f or the button.
Scanning 36 Xerox Travel Scanner 100 User’s Guide The PDF f ormat is often used to create images of te xt pages. Y ou may want to select PDF as the f ormat when scanning text pages that do not requir e OCR proc essing or other pr ocessing. The PDF f ormat is also used to put multi-page documents on web sites as pd f-readable files.

Scanning 46 Xerox Travel Scanner 100 User’s Guide Sc anning with Optic al Char acter R ecognition (OCR) Optic al Char acter R ecognition (OCR) conv erts text and numbers on a scanned page into edit able text and numbers. Y ou can then work with the text and numbers to edit, spell check, change f ont or type size, sort, calculat e, and so f orth.

C alibr ating Y our Sc anner The scanner needs to be calibrated as part of your monthly maintenance of the sc anner.

If insta llation finishes, the scanner’s One T ouch 4.0 options do not seem to work properly.
