The default options on this window will install put the shortcut icon in your Windows All Programs list in the Xerox fold er .

Click Next on the W elcome window to start the inst allation. 2. The next screen let s you choose where the installation files are going to be on your computer .

The User Guides on your scanner’s installation disc are in PDF format and require Adob e Reader for you to view and save them.

See “T ransferring Scanned Documents to S t orage” on p age 52 and “Scan and Burn to a CD” on page 49 for details.
Scanning from On e Touch 48 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide S pecial Features and Scanning Destinations The One T ouch so ftware has unique scanning options available. Y ou can scan directly to word processing progr ams, to your computer’s CD burner , HTML files and so on.

Scanning from On e Touch 50 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide Scanning with Event Forwarding If you want to specify an application to use for scanning at the sta rt of the process, you can use event forwarding. The scanner will feed in the first page, but will then stop until you select the application to use.

Scanning from On e Touch 52 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide T ransferring Scanned Documents to S torage With the T ransfer to S torage scanning process, yo u can scan document s and save them in a folder in one step. The process is idea l for archiving documents without having to man ually save or process them in any other way .

If you have n’t created the fo lder yet, you can click the Make New Folder button and type the name for the new folder .

Y ou can also scan from with in scanning applications using the TW AIN interface. Y ou then use that ap plication’s op tions to modify and save the file.
Scanning from TWAIN 58 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide TW AIN Interface Options When Xerox DocuMate 765 TW AIN interf ace first opens the initial view of the Configurations t ab, shows the Current Settings profile and basic information about the scanning selections in the Summary field.

Browse to the location on your computer where the profiles are saved, select th e profile then click on Import.
Scanning from TWAIN 60 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide Resolution —move the slider left or righ t to change the reso lution for the scanned image. Resolution is the clarity of the imag e measured in dots- per-inch (d pi). The higher the resolution th e clearer the image.

Scanning from TWAIN 62 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide Skew dete ction is the scanner ’s ability to detect when a page has been fed through at an angle (skewed). Click on the drop arrow to select one of the options from the list. Y ou can se t the scanner to Detect and sto p scanning so you can rescan the page, or turn of f the feature.
DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Gui de 63 Scanning fr om TWAIN Color Dropout tells the scanner and sof tware to remove a specific color from the image. Y ou can choose e ither Red, Blue or Gree n to be dropped out of an image. This option is only available when scanning in grayscale or black and white.
Scanning from TWAIN 64 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide Threshold —move the slide r to the left or right to set the level of lightness or darkness for the scanner to leverag e from. This option is only enabled if you have selected T ext or Mixed Co ntent as the threshold tech nique to use.

Y ou can select Pixels, Inches or Centimeters. When you select one of th ese options, the numbers in the Page Size section will change to reflect your c hoice.

This tells the scanner ho w fa st to feed the paper , detect double page feed, an d several other options where you specify how the sca nner should handle pa per .
DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Gui de 81 Scanning from ISIS • Feeding Speed —you can slow the scanning spe ed of the ADF to scan items that may be too fragile to scan at normal feeding speed s. Y ou can choose either Normal or Sl ow feeding, slow feed ing is about 1/3 the speed of normal scann ing.

Place your p age(s) in the scanner ’s input tray . The page will feed through the scanner , if you put in multiple pages all pages will be scanned.
DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Gui de 83 Scanning from ISIS Image Processing Options The Main ta b has the basic features you need for imag e capture when scanning. The basic settings inclu de color mode, resolution (dpi ), brightness, contrast, and dither op tions.
Scanning from ISIS 84 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide • Binary Dynamic Threshold —this option enables the scanner to automatically adjust the bright ness according to the background color . Dynamic Threshold is only available when sca nning in Black and White color mode.
DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Gui de 85 Scanning from ISIS If you have selected more than one f ilter , click on a filter on the right side of the screen then click on the up or down arrow to move the filter in the list. This tells the softwa re which filter to use first, second, and so on.
Scanning from ISIS 86 DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Guide Noise Removal —this option reduces the black spot s that may appear when sca nning some document s. For instance, if you scan in a document that ha s tables with shading on them , the resulting scanned image will have black dots (pix ilation or noise) in the areas where the shading occurs.
DocuMate 765 Scanner User’s Gui de 87 Scanning from ISIS • Chroma —this option allows you to specify the amount of gray or white used to dilute t he colors in the scanned image. Move the slider left or righ t to change the chroma level between 1 to 255.

The imprinter pre-print s data on a p age just before the paper is pulled through the scanner , the printed dat a is then captured in the final image.
