T o install the softw are: 1. St art Microsoft Windo ws and mak e sure tha t no other ap plic ations are runnin g.

If you choose not to accept the license agreem ent, the inst allation will terminate and the P aperP ort software will not be installed.

Y our comput er recognizes that a scanner has been plugged into the USB p ort and automatic ally loads the appr opriate software to run the scanner. Do not proceed until you receive a message that your computer has found the new hardware, or updated the driver dat abase.

Xerox Card Scanner 200 User’s Guide 17 Scanning Sc anning using One T ouch One T ouch is your main scanning int erf ace f or using the scanner. Placing a page in the scan ner automatically starts the scanner and sends the imag e to the destination selected in the One T ouch properties .

Ap propriat e f ormat options and file types are a vailable f or the type of Destination Application selected f or the button.

BMP and TIFF are standar d image file f o rmats generally us ed if you wan t to do additional image processing, such as photo touch-up or color co rrection.

Sc anning to Multiple Archiv e F olders When archiving documents with T ransf er to Storage option, y ou can sca n the documents to diff erent f o lders.

C alibr ating Y our Scanner The scanner needs to be calibrated as part of your monthly maintenance of the sc anner.

Xerox Card Scanner 200 User’s Guide 71 Maintenance Cleaning Y our Scanner If calibration does not r esolve any image quality issu es you are seeing, you may need to clean the scanner. Y ou will need to have the scanner’s cleaning sheet ready. T o clean the sc anner: 1.
Maintenance 72 Xerox Card Scanner 200 User’s Guide 5. Place the cleaning sheet in the scanner. The scan ner pulls in the cleaning sheet. The scanner will move the cleaning sheet back and f orth during cleaning. 6. When cleaning is complete the scanner will eject the sheet out of th e scanner.
Xerox Card Scanner 200 User’s Guide 73 Maintenance Additional Cleaning Method The standard cleaning method f or your scanner is to use the dry cleaning sheet in the sc anner. If lines, smudges or blurry area s are still in the scanne d im age you can try cleaning the scanner with I sopropyl rubbing alcohol.

Dampen the clea ning sheet with the Isopropyl rubbing al cohol. T ry to dampen the cleaning sheet on ly in the area where the problem ex ists in the image.

The R eadme file contains additional inf ormation that may help you diagnose problems with the scanner.
Maintenance 76 Xerox Card Scanner 200 User’s Guide Pr oblem: The installation will not complete success fully. If installation finishes, the sc anner’s One T ouch 4.0 options do not seem to work pr operly. A lik ely cause is that some driver pr ogr ams are alr e ady installed on y our computer f or another scanner.
