It is not designed fo r , nor intended fo r audio reproduc tion use as mig ht be ex pected in home thea ter or home ci nema applications.

Press the main power switch to the I position. Check that the Po w e r i n d i c a t o r on the projecto r lights orange afte r power has been ap plied.
Operation 31 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The projector is equipp ed wi th multilingual On-Screen Display (OSD) menus for making various adjustme nts and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set the OSD menu to y our familiar l anguage first.
32 Operation Securing the project or U sing a securit y cable lock The projector has to be installed in a safe plac e to prev ent stealing. If not, purchase a lock, like K ensington lock, to secure the projector . Y ou can locate a K ensington lock slot on the rear side of the pr ojector .
Operation 33 If y ou forget the passwor d If the passwo rd function is activat ed, yo u will be asked to en ter the six -d ig it p as swor d e ver y t ime you tur n o n the project or . If you ent er the wrong passwor d, the password err or message as pictured to the right displays lasting for three seconds, and the Inp ut P assword page follows.

36 Operation A djusting the project ed picture A djusting the projection angle The pr ojector is eq uipped with 2 quick -release adjuster feet. These adjusters change the pictu re height and pr ojection angle.
Operation 37 Correcting picture dist ortion Correcting two-dimensional keystone K eystoning occurs when the projector is not perp endicular to the screen and is where the project ed picture displ ays .
38 Operation Correcting pincushion distortion and bar rel distortion Y our pr ojected picture may su ffer from pincushion or barr el disto rtions due to the curv ed projection surface. • Pincushion distor tion The horizontal and v ertical lines that do no t go through the center of the picture bend inwar ds to ward the c enter of the picture.
Operation 39 Selecting the aspect ratio The 'aspect rati o' is the ratio of t he picture width t o the picture height. Most analog TV and computers are in 4:3 ratio, and digital TV and DVDs are usually in 16:9 ratio .
40 Operation 2. Anamorphic : Scales a picture so that it is di splay ed in the center of the screen using 1280 x 720 pix e ls. This may alt er the project ed aspect, depending upon the original aspect of the sour ce image.
Operation 41 Magnifying and Searching for details on the pr ojected pictur e If y ou need to find the det ails on the project ed pictur e, magnify the picture. The picture can be enlarged up to 300% than the original pictur e size with 50% incr ements.
42 Operation Selecting a picture mode The project or is preset with several pr e-define d pictur e modes so that y ou can choose one to suit your operati ng environment and input source picture ty pe. The picture modes a vailable for different types of signals are list ed below .
Operation 43 Fine-tuning the selected picture mode The pre-defined pictu re mode settings can be altered vi a the available items shown in the Picture -- Basic and Pictur e -- A dvanced menus. T o fine-tune the pic ture mode: 1. Press MENU and then p ress / until the Picture -- Basic or Pictur e -- A dvanced men u is highl ight ed.
44 Operation Renaming user modes Yo u c a n c h a n g e Us e r 1 , Us e r 2 , and Us e r 3 to the names ea sy to be identified or understood by the users of this projector . The new name can be up to 12 characters incl uding English letters (A -Z, a-z), digits (0-9), and space (_).
Operation 45 Fine-tuning the picture quality No matter what pictur e mode y ou ha ve select ed, you a re able t o fine-tune those settings t o fit every prese ntation purpose. Those adjus tments will be sa ved t o the pr eset mode y ou are at when you exit the OSD menu.
46 Operation A dvanc ed picture quality contr ols There are more advanced functions in th e Picture -- Adva nce d menu to be ad justed to your preference. Operation 55 A djusting the sound The sound adjus tments made as below w ill have an effect on the projector speaker and, if using external spea kers, on the audio output signal. Be su re you have made a corre ct conn ectio n to the projector a udio input( s) and, if using external speakers, to the projector audio outputs .

Maintenance 67 6. M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojector Y our pr ojector needs little maint enanc e. The only thi ng you n eed to do on a regula r basis is to keep the lens clean. See "Cleaning the lens" below for details. Nev er remo ve an y parts of the pr ojector ex cept the lamp.
68 Maintenance Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour When the projector is in opera tion, the durati on (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated b y the built-in timer .

70 Maintenance R eplacing the lamp • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, always turn the projector off and disconnect the power cord before changing the lamp. • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
