Introducti on 11 Re mote contr ol effective range Infra Red (IR) remote co ntrol sensors are located on the front and the back of the projector . The remot e control must be held at an angle within 30 degrees of the projector’ s IR remot e control sensors to function correctly .
Introduction 12 Installing or R eplacing the Batteries • Avoid ex cess ive heat and humidity . There may be danger of damage to the remote and injury to those nearby if the batteri es ar e incorrectly replaced. • Replace only with the same or equivalent type recommended by the manufactur er .

Positioning your projector 15 The recommended focus range is from 1. 5 ~ 8 meters (6 ~ 32 feet). There is 3% ~ 5% tolerance among these figu res due to optical component variations.
Connection 16 Connection Wi r e l e s s c o n n e c t i o n This is the rec ommended and most c onv enient wa y of using this pr ojector . Y ou will need to ins er t the w ire le ss card to you r p roj ec tor and in st al l t he n ece ssa r y sof tw are onto you r l ap top to enable you to make presenta tions.
Connection 17 Connecting to a laptop or deskt op computer Notes: • A Mac adaptor (an optional accessory) may be necessary if you are connec ting to an older Macintosh computers. • The USB cable is required if you intend using the mouse functions on the remote control.

Operat ion 20 8. If y ou are going to displ ay a image fr om other signal input, pre ss Sou rce on the projector or remote control. The projector screen displays the current input source being scanned at the bott om rig ht corner of the screen.
Operation 21 A djusting the image A djusting the height Place y our projector on a fla t level surface an d ensure that the projector is squar e to the screen. The projector is equi pped w ith 2 quick-relea se adjuster feet. The se adjusters change th e image height and projection an g le.
Operat ion 22 Correcting k eystone K eystoning re fers to the situation wher e the projecte d image is noticeably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the projector is not p erpen dicular to the screen.
Operation 23 Zoom In + / Zoom Out - By pressing Zoom + , the center of the picture will be mag nified. Whe n t h e + butto n is pressed again, the picture is further magn ified. Use the Mouse P ad to navigate the i mage. By pressing Zoom - , the size of the image is r educed.
Operat ion 24 Laser pointer operation The Laser P ointer is a pr esentation aid for professionals. It emits re d colored light when y ou press i t and the LED indicator lights up green. Do not look into the laser light window or shine the laser light beam on y ourself or others.
Operation 25 PIP (Picture In Picture) operation Y our projector i s capable of disp laying image s simultaneously from two input source s, wh ich can be used to enhance your presentat ion in an interesting way . These func tions are available only when the input source is PC and the PIP source is V i deo or S-V ideo.
Operat ion 26 Fr eezing the image The imag e is frozen when Free ze is pressed. An icon will appear in the lower right corner of the scre en. T o releas e the function, press Fr eeze again, Re tu r n or Source (this will change the inpu t source and release the p ause function).
Operation 27 Shut down 1. Press Pow e r and a confirmation prompt message displays. T o tur n the projector off, press Pow er again . 2. The Pow e r i n d i c at o r l i g ht flashes orange and the lamp shuts down. The fans will continue to run for appro ximately 90 seconds to c ool down the projector lamp .

Operation 29 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is equipped with on- screen displa y (OSD) men us for making various adjustments and settings. There are 10 differ ent menu lang uages. (Refer t o pag e 39 for more deta ils.) The fol lowing exa mple descr ibes the adjustment of the keystone.

Operation 33 4. Control men u FUNCTION DESCRIPTION Language Language s ets the language for the OSD c ontrol me nus. Us e t h e 3 / 4 key to select the desired langua ge from among English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Russi an, T raditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, J apanese and K orean.
Operat ion 34 High Altitude A mode for extreme environments like high alt itude and hig h tempera ture. W e recommend you use the Hig h Altitude mo de when your environment is higher than 3000 feet a bove sea level, or is hotter than 40 ℃ .

PIP (Picture In Picture) menu Y our projector is capable of displaying images simultaneously from two input sourc es, which can be use d to enhance your presentati on in an interesting way . These func tions are available only w hen the input source is PC and the PIP source is Video or S-Video .
Maintenance 36 M aintenance Y our project or needs little main tenance. The only things y ou have to do on a r egular basis are to k eep the lens clean and to clean the dust filte rs to prev ent overheatin g. Nev er remov e any parts of the pr ojector ex cept the lamp and d ust filters.
Maintenance 37 4. U se a small vacuum cleaner designed for compute rs and other office e quipment to clean the filters. Or use a soft brush (such as a clean ar tist’ s paint brush) to gently sweep the dust awa y . If the dirt is difficult t o remov e or the filters ar e broken, replace them.
Maintenance 38 Lamp information U se and replac ement of the lamp When the Lamp Indicator lights up red or a message appears sug gesting it is tim e to replace the lamp , please install a new lamp. An old la mp may caus e a malfunction in the proj ector and in some inst ances the lamp ma y explode.
Maintenance 39 • This lamp contains mercury . Consul t y our local hazardous waste regulations and dispose of this lamp in the proper manner. Step 1.
Maintenance 40 • Do not reset if the lamp is not re placed as this could cause damage. Step 9. Reset t he lam p counter 1.
