Connection 21 Connecting video sour ce devices Y ou need only connect the pr ojector to a video sour ce device using just one of the connecting methods, howe ver each pr ovides a differ ent level of video quality .
Connection 22 Pla ying sound thr ough the pr ojector Y ou can mak e use of the projector (mix ed mono ) speaker in yo ur presentations, and also connect separate amplif ied speakers to the A UDIO OUT sock et of the projec tor .
Operation 23 Operation Star ting up the pr ojector 1. Plug the powe r cord into the pr ojector and into a wall socket. T urn on the wall sock et switch (where f itted). Check that the PO WER indicator light on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
Operation 24 Using the quick install The pr ojector provides a hot k ey to set Pr ojector Installation , Te s t Pat te rn , an d K eystone quickly . Press Quick In stall on the remote control and pr ess ▲ / ▼ to select: • Projector Installation: See "Positioning your proj ector" on page 16 .
Operation 25 Fine-tuning the imag e size and clarity Sharpen t he image by rotating the FOC US ring. Corr ecting k eystone K eyst oning refers to the situation w here the pr ojected image is noticeably wider at either the top or bottom. It occurs when the pr oj ector is not perpendicular to the screen.
Operation 26 Using the menus The projector is equipp ed with On-Screen Displa y (OSD) menus for making various adjustment s and settings. Below is the ov er view of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set them to your familiar language first. 1.
Operation 27 Securing the pr ojector Using a security cable lock The projector has to be installed in a safe pl ace to prevent theft. Otherwise, purchase a lock, such as a K ensing ton lock, to secure th e pr ojector . Y ou can locate a K ensington lock slot on the left side of the projector .
Operation 28 If y ou forget the pass wor d If the passwor d function is activat e d, you will be asked to enter the fiv e-digit password e very time you turn on the projector .
Operation 29 6. Y ou ha ve successfully assigned a ne w password to the projector . Re member to enter the new passw ord next time the pr ojector is started.
Operation 30 Switching input signal The projector can be connected to multiple de vices at the same time . How ever , it can only displa y one full screen at a time . Be sure the Quick Auto Search function in the Source menu i s On (which is the default of this projector) if y ou want the pr ojector t o au tomatically search for the signals.
Operation 31 Magnifying and sear ching for details If you need to find th e details o n the projected picture, magnify the pictur e. Use the direction ar row k eys for na vigating the picture. • Using the r emote control 1. Press Digital Zoom+/ - to displa y the Zoom bar .
Operation 32 About the aspect ratio In the pictures below , the black portions are inactive area s and the white por tions ar e active ar eas. OSD menus can be displa yed on those unused black areas. 1. Auto : Scales an image proportionally to fit the pr ojector's native r esolution in its horizontal width.
Operation 33 Optimizing the image Using W a ll Color In the situation wher e you ar e projecting on to a co lor ed surface such as a painted wall which ma y not be white , the Wall Color feature can help corr ect the projected pictur e’ s color to prev ent possible color difference betw een the source and pr ojected pictures.

Operation 36 Please ref er to the illustr ation to the right for how the colors relate to each other . For example, if you select Red and set its range at 0, only pur e red in the pr ojected picture will be selected. Incr easing its range will include red close to yello w and red close to magenta.

Operation 39 Operating in a high altitude envir onment W e recommend y ou use the High Altitude Mode when your en vironment is betw een 1500 m –3000 m abov e sea lev el, and temperature is betw een 0°C–30°C. Do not use the High Altitude Mode if your altitude is between 0 m and 1500 m and temperature is be t ween 0°C and 35°C .

Maintenance 54 Maintenance Car e of the pr ojector Y our projector needs little maintenance. The on ly thing y ou need to do on a regular basis is to keep th e lens clean. Nev er remov e any par ts of the pr ojector except the lamp. Contact y our dealer if other parts need replacing.
Maintenance 55 Lamp information Getting to kno w the lamp hour When the projector is in operation, the durati on (in hours) of lamp usage is automatically calculated by the built-in timer .
Maintenance 56 Timing of r eplacing the lamp When the Lamp indicat or lights up red or a message a ppears suggesting it is time to replace the lamp , please install a ne w lamp or consult y our dealer . An old lamp ma y cause a malfunction in the pr ojector and in some instances the lam p may explode.
Maintenance 57 Replacing the lamp • If lamp replacement is performed while the projecto r is suspended upside-down fr om the ceiling, mak e sure that no one is underneath the lamp socket to a v oid an y possible injury or damage to the human ey es caused by fractured lamp .
Maintenance 58 4. Loosen the two captiv e screws that secure the lamp . • Do not turn the power on with the lamp cover remo ved. • Do not insert your fingers betw een the lamp and the projector . The sh arp edges inside t he projector ma y cause injuries.
