This is the most common way to position the projector for quick setup and portability . II. Ceiling front Select this location with the projector suspended upside-down from the cei ling in front of the screen.

The maximum (nativ e) resolution of the project or is 1024 x 768 pixels, which is a 4 to 3 aspect ratio (expr essed as 4:3).

Connection 18 Connection When connecting a signa l source to the projector , be sure to: 1. T urn all equipment off be fore maki ng any c onnections. 2.
Connection 19 T o connect the project or to a notebook or desktop c omputer (either thr ough a VG A c a b l e o r VG A - D V I c a b l e ) : The final connection path should be like that shown in the following diagr am: • A Mac adapter (an optional accessory) is needed if you are connecting legacy version Macintosh computers.

Connection 21 Connecting V ideo source devices This section d escribes how to conn ect the proj ector to V ideo sourc e devices using video cables. V ideo cable c onnections ar e recomme nded for V ideo pre sentations. This projector also supports data (graphic) "PC" connection using Wi-Fi.
Connection 22 The audi o connections il lustrated in the follow ing sect ions are provided for in formationa l purposes only . Y ou need not c onnect audio t o the proj ector if ther e is an alt ernate sound syste m available, or if audio is not requ ired.
Connection 23 • The projector is only capable of playing mixed mono audio, even if a stere o audio input is conne ct e d. S ee "Connecting Audio" on page 21 for details. • Component Video is the only video output that delivers native 16:9 as pect ratio picture.
Connection 24 • If you have already made a Component Video connect ion between the projector and this S-Video source device using Component Video connections, you need not connect to this device using an S-Video connection as this makes an unnec essa ry second connection of poorer picture quality .
Operation 25 Operation Star t up 1. Plug the power cord into the projector and into a wall sock et. T urn on the wall sock et switch (where fitted). Check that the Po w e r i n d i c a t o r on the projector lights orange after power has been applied.
Operat ion 26 T o set a password: CAUTION: Once a password has been set, the projector cannot be used unless the correct pass word i s entered every time the projector is st arted. 1. Open th e on-screen menu and go to Setting > Pa s s w o rd . Select On by pres sin g Left 3 or Right 4 .

Operat ion 36 3. Setting menu FUNCTION (default setting / value) DESCRIPTION Mute (off) T ogg les projector audio b etween on and off. V olume (5) Adjusts audio volume level. OSD Time (10) Sets the length of time the OSD will remain active afte r your last butt on press.

Operat ion 38 High Altitude Mode (off) A mode for operation in areas lik e high altitude or high temperature. W e recommend you use the High Altitude Mode when your environment is higher than 3000 feet abov e sea level, or is hotter than 40 °C , or whenever the projector wi ll be used for extended periods of time (>10 hou rs) without shutdown.

Maintenance 40 M aintenanc e Care of the pr ojector Y our project or needs little maintenanc e. The only thing y ou need to do on a regu lar basis is to k eep the lens clean. Nev er remov e any parts of the projector e xcept the lamp. Cont act your dealer i f other parts need re placing.
Maintenance 41 A warning messa ge like t he one pictured t o the right will be displayed fo r 10 seconds every 500 hours to remind you to clean the filter . T o leav e the message, press the Ex it button on the projec tor or remote control. T o clean the filter: 1.
Maintenance 42 7. Refi t the filter case by aligning and inserting it into the project or slot. 8. Press the case back until it clicks into plac e. 9. T urn the projector back on. If the ca se is not correctly seated in place, the project or will display an on-screen message as pictured to th e righ t every t hree minutes.

Maintenance 44 Rep la c i n g t h e l a m p • T o reduce the risk of electrical shock, al ways turn the projector off and disconnect the power co rd before chan ging the lamp . • T o reduce the risk of severe burns, allow the projector to cool for at least 45 minutes before replacing the lamp.
