Operation 21 Us i n g t h e m e n u s The pr ojector is eq uipped with On-Scr een Display (OSD) menu s for making various adjustments and settings. Below is the overview of the OSD menu. T o use the OSD menus, please set them to your familiar language fir st.
Operat ion 22 U tilizing the passwor d func tion For security purposes and to help pr event un authorized us e, the project or include s an option for setting up password securit y . Th e pas sword can be set through the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu. For details of the OSD menu op erati on, please refer to "U sing the menus" on page 21 .
Operation 23 Entering the passw or d recall pr ocedure 1. Press and hold AUTO on the remote control for 3 seconds. The pr ojector will displa y a coded number on the screen. 2. W rite do wn the number and turn off your projector . 3. Seek help fr om the local BenQ service center t o decode the number.
Operat ion 24 S w itching input sig nal The projector can be connected to multiple devices at the same time. However , it can only display one full screen at a time. Be sur e the Quick Auto Search function in the SOURCE menu is On (whic h is the defa ult of this projec tor) if you want the proj ector to automati cally sea rch for the sig nals.

Operat ion 26 Magnifyi ng and searching for details If y ou need to find the details on th e project ed picture, magni fy the picture. Use the direction arrow keys for navigating the picture. 1. Press MENU/EXIT an d then press / until the DISPLA Y menu is highlighted.
Operation 27 2. Rea l : The image is projected as its original resolution, and resiz ed to fit within the display area. For input signals with lower resolutions, the project ed image will display smaller than if resized to full screen.

It is most suitable for viewing photos taken with an sRGB compatible and properly calibra ted camera, an d for view ing PC grap hic and drawing applications suc h as A utoCAD .
Operation 29 Us i n g W a l l C o l o r In the situation where yo u are projectin g onto a color ed surface such as a painted wall which may not be whit e, the Wall Color feature ca n help correct the p rojected picture ’ s color t o prev ent possible c olor differ ence betwee n the sourc e and pr ojected pictur es.
Operat ion 30 *About c olor temperatures: There are man y differ ent shade s that are consid ered t o be "white" for various purposes. One of the common methods of representing white color is known as the “color temperat ure” . A white color with a low color te mperature appear s to be redd ish white.
Operation 31 Oper ating in a hig h altitude en v iro nment W e recommend you use the High Altitude Mode when your en v ironment is between 1500 m –4000 m above sea level, and te mperature is between 5°C–35°C. Do not use the High Altitude Mode if your a ltitude is between 0 m and 1500 m and t emperature is between 5°C and 35°C.
