Using the ceramic glass cooktop (Model CES 3 66H) Cooking on the ceramic glass cooktop is similar to cooking on coil elements. There ar e, however , a few differ ences: • The surface cooking area will glow r ed when the element is turned on.
12 USING YOUR RANGE U SING THE OVEN Positioning racks and pans Place the oven racks where you need them befor e turning on the oven. • T o move a rack, pull it out to the stop position, raise the front edge and lift it out. • Be sure the rack(s) is level.

CLOCK TIMER TIMER 14 USING YOUR RANGE T HE ELECTRONIC TIME - OF - D A Y CLOCK / TIMER Oven timer pad (pp. 15, 16) Display/clock • When you first plug in the range, “PF” appears in the display until you press any command pad. If “PF” appears again in the display , your electricity was off for a while.
The timer does not start or stop the oven. It works like a kitchen timer . It can be set in hours and minutes up to 12 hours, 59 minutes. The timer will display minutes for settings under 1 hour and hours and minutes for settings over 1 hour . Y ou will hear four 1-second tones when the set time is up.
16 U SING THE ELECTRONIC TIMER ( CONT . ) USING YOUR RANGE 3. When there is 1 minute of time r emaining, the display will begin counting down in seconds. When the timer countdown reaches zer o, the display will show “End” and you will hear four 1-second tones.

During baking/roasting, the elements will turn on and off to keep the oven temperatur e at the setting. NOTE: The top element helps heat during bak- ing/roasting, but does not turn red.
18 USING YOUR RANGE A DJUSTING THE OVEN TEMPERA TURE CONTROL Although your new oven is properly adjusted to provide accurate temperatur es, it may cook faster or slower than your old oven. If you are not satisfied with the baking/r oasting results, you can change the of fset temperature by following the steps below .
19 NOTES: • Do not preheat when br oiling unless your recipe recommends it. • Leave the door partly open whenever you use the oven to broil. This lets the oven stay at the pr oper temperatures. 1. Place the rack where you need it. Y ou need to place the rack so that the surface of the food is at least 3 inches away from the br oil element.
20 4. Set the oven control knob to BROIL. 5. After broiling, turn the oven control knob to OFF . B ROILING ( CONT . ) USING YOUR RANGE YOU SEE OVEN ON and HEA TING lights go on.

22 Coil element model (Model CES 3 6 5 H) Hot air and moisture escape fr om the oven through a vent under the left rear coil element. Y ou can cook on this unit or keep food warm on it while the oven is on. The vent is needed for air circulation. Do not block the vent by using extra large pans or covers.
23 Use the storage drawer to store cookwar e. Y ou can remove the drawer to make it easier to clean under the range. Removing the storage drawer: 1. Empty the drawer before you r emove it. Pull the drawer straight out to the first stop. (The stops are small, r ound objects formed in the slide rail.
24 U SING THE S ELF -C LEANING C YCLE w W ARNING Burn Hazard Do not touch the oven during the Self-Cleaning cycle. Keep children away from oven during Self-Cleaning cycle. Do not use commercial oven cleaners in your oven. Failure to follow these instructions can result in burns, or illness from inhaling dangerous fumes.
25 1. Set the oven control knob to CLEAN. The door will lock itself within 6 seconds. If the door has a problem locking, it will try to lock itself for 1 minute. If the door fails to lock, the Self-Cleaning cycle will cancel. An error code will be displayed.
26 S ETTING THE CONTROLS USING THE SELF-CLEANING CYCLE H OW THE CYCLE WORKS The Self-Cleaning cycle uses very high heat to burn away soil and grease. During the cycle, the oven gets much hotter than it does for normal baking or broiling. This high heat br eaks up the soil or grease and burns it away .

30 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE BAKE OFF BAKE Replacing 1. Make sure all coil elements ar e off and cool before r eplacing coil elements and reflector bowls. C OIL ELEMENTS AND REFLECTOR BOWLS ( MODEL CES 3 6 5 H ) 3. Pull the coil element straight away from the receptacle.
31 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE C OIL ELEMENTS AND REFLECTOR BOWLS ( MODEL CES 3 6 5 H ) 4. When the terminal is pushed into the receptacle as far as it will go, push down the edge of the coil element opposite the receptacle. NOTE: Reflector bowls reflect heat back to the cookware on the coil elements.
32 CARING FOR YOUR RANGE NOTE: Do not drop the cooktop. Damage could result to the por celain and the cooktop frame. 1. Lift the front of the cooktop at both fr ont corners until the support rods lock into place. 2. Wipe the surface under the cooktop with warm, soapy water and a sponge.
33 T o remove: 1. Open the oven door . Insert door removal pins, included with your range, into both hinge hangers. Do not remove the pins while the door is removed fr om the range. CARING FOR YOUR RANGE R EMOVING THE O VEN DOOR For normal use of your range, you do not need to remove the door .
34 The oven light will come on when you open the oven door . T o turn the light on or off when the oven door is closed: • Push the oven light switch on the backguard. T o replace the oven light: 1. Unplug range or disconnect power . 2. Remove the glass bulb cover in the back of the oven by turning it counterclockwise.
35 PROBLEM The Self-Cleaning cycle will not work PROBLEM Nothing works CAUSE • The range is not plugged into a properly gr ounded live outlet with the proper voltage. (See Installation Instructions.) • Y ou have blown a household fuse or tripped a circuit breaker .
