5 Power Supp ly Cord NOTE : Yo u r u n i t ’ s devi ce may differ from the one shown. This room air conditioner is equ ipped with a power supply cord required by UL. This power supply cord contai ns state-of-t he-art electronics that s ense leakage current.
6 Window Instal latio n 1. Using the tray back as a temp late, center in windowsill against outside edge of stool. 2. Using the 2 insi de scr ew holes in tray b ack, ma rk scre w locations on wind owsill for mounting t he SMART -M OUNT ® tray . 3. Remove tray bac k.
7 2. Insert carriage bolt up thr ough sl ot on tray-frame side and support leg. 3. Place one end of t ray center over c arriage bolt. 4. Then place fla t washer , lock washer an d hex nut. NOTE : Do n ot tighte n. Th e leg must be ab le to mov e fr eel y to adjust angl e when install ed.

10 To p V i e w Complete Installation 1. Insert f oam seal be hind the top of the lower wind ow sash and against the glas s of the upper window . 2. Place window-lock bracket on top of lower window and against upper win dow sash.
11 Install W ood Frame 1. Construct wood frame. See “ Locati on Requirements ” for dimen sions . 2. Measure outsid e width and h eight of frame to d etermine wa ll opening dimensions . 3. Cut op enin g th ro ugh th e wa ll. Remo ve a nd sav e ins ulat ion.
12 Attach Sup port Legs 1. Determin e the correct slots on the t ray side from the type of exterior construction of the building. Thin wall construction (vinyl, wood, etc.) Thick wall construction (brick) 2. Insert carriage bolt up thr ough sl ot on tray-frame side and support leg.
13 2. Using 2 - #10 - 1 2 x 1 ¹⁄₂ " s lot-head wood screw s, secure the tray-frame assembly to the wall op ening. Left Side Righ t Side NOTE : If the ext erior of building can be damaged by support legs, pl ace a board between th e wall and support legs.
14 2. If the feet on the bott om of the air condit ioner do n ot rest on the wood stri p, remove the air conditi oner and adjust the SMART -M OUNT ® tray until feet rest on the wood strip.
15 AIR CONDITIONER USE Operating your ai r conditioner properly help s you to obtain the best possi ble re sult s. This section expl ains proper air conditione r operation. IMPORT AN T : ■ If you tur n off the air conditioner , wait at leas t 3 minutes before turnin g it back on.
16 T emp erature ■ Press the plus bu tton to raise th e temperature. Room indica tor li ght wi ll tur n off, and Set indi cator li ght wil l tur n on. Display shows t he T emp erature control setting. Each time you press or hold the plu s button, the t emperature will increas e 1 º until it reaches 86 ° F (30 ° C).
17 T o Operate Air Conditioner with R emote Contr ol NOTE : R emote control may vary in appearance. NOTE : T wo AA batterie s (not included) power the remote cont rol. Repl ace ba tteri es a fter 6 m onth s of use, or when th e r emo te contr ol starts to lose power .
18 T o set Timer to turn on air conditioner , changing the previous setting s: 1. T u rn on air co ndition er . 2. Adjust Mode to Auto Cool, Cool, Fan Only , or Power Sa ver . NOTE : For Auto Cool mode, go to Step 4. 3. For Cool, Fan Only or P ower Saver mode, adjust Fan S peed to T urbo, High or Low .
19 Models Without Power Save r Models With Power Saver T emp erature T u rn the TEM PERA TURE control to a mid-sett ing. Adjust the air conditioner's performance by turning the T emperature control clockwise for maximum cooling. For less cooling, turn the TEMPERA TURE control counterclockwise.

21 TR OUBLESHOOTING Before calling for service, try the suggestions below to see whether you can solve your problem without outside help. Air conditioner will not operate ■ The power supp ly cor d is unpl ugged. P lug into a ground ed 3 prong ou tlet.
22 Air condit ioner cycles on and o ff too much o r does no t cool ■ The Mode is set t o Power Saver (on some mo dels). Use Power Saver only when you are asleep or away from home, since the fan does not circulate th e r oom air continuou sly . Use Low , High or T urbo for your best comfort.
