Setting U p 13 1. Installation Setting Up Selecting a loca tion for the fax machine T o maximiz e the ta lking r ange of the co rdless h andset, w e reco mmend inst alling the fa x machi ne in a hi gh and c entra l locatio n aw a y from obstr uc tions such as walls.
Setting Up 14 Connecting the power cord Plug the p ow er cord in to a 120 V , 60 H z, grou nded A C (3-prong) outlet . Caution! Do not plug the p ower c ord into a ny other k ind of ou tlet. This will dama ge the machin e and is not cover ed under th e wa rranty .

Setting Up 18 Installing the battery and char ging the cordless handset 1 Connect the battery connector ➊ 1 Connect the b atter y co nnec tor ➊ , and then pla ce th e ba ttery pac k in the cor dless han dset. • Place th e wires as shown . 2 Place the ba ttery cover on the cor dless handset, m aking sure it snaps fir mly into place.
