ASSEMBL Y A ssembly requires two persons. Place a mat under the treadmill to protect the floor during assembly. S et the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until as- sembly is completed.
4. With the help of a second person, raise the Left and Right Uprights (32, 37) to the vertical position. Feed the Wire Harness (53) into the hole in the bottom of one of the Handrails (4) and out of the large hole in the side. Note: It may be helpful to use needlenose pliers to pull the Wire Harness out of the hole.
6. Place the Console Base (45) on the Handrails (4) (only one Handrail is shown). Insert the Wire Harness (53) through the indicated plastic tie on the Console Base (45). Next, insert the Wire Harness through the opening in the Console Base. 6 8 45 Tie 4 53 8 9 5 3 5 4 5.
9 8 8. Set the Console (2) in the Console Base (45). Make sure that no wires are pinched. Attach the Console (2) to the Console Base (45) with six 3 /4” Screws (77).
10 14. Make sure that all parts are properly tightened before you use the treadmill. Note: Extra hardware may be included. Keep the included hex keys in a secure place. The large hex key is used to adjust the walking belt (see page 17). To protect the floor or carpet, place a mat under the treadmill.
1 1 THE PERFORMANT LUBE TM WALKING BELT Your treadmill features a walking belt coated with PERFORMANT LUBE TM ,a high-performance lubricant. IMPOR- TANT: Never apply silicone spray or other substances to the walking belt or the walking platform. Such substances will deteriorate the walking belt and cause excessive wear.
12 STEP-BY-STEP CONSOLE OPERATION Before operating the console, make sure that the power cord is properly plugged in (see page 11). Locate the on/off switch on the side of the treadmill near the power cord. Move the on/off switch to the “on” position.
To stop the walking belt, press the Stop button. The elapsed time will begin to flash in the T ime/Distance display. N ote: During the first few minutes that the tread- mill is used, inspect the alignment of the walking belt, and align it if necessary (see page 17).
14 HOW T O FOLD AND MOVE THE TREADMILL HOW TO FOLD THE TREADMILL FOR STORAGE Unplug the power cord. CAUTION: You must be able to safely lift 20 kg (45 lbs.) to raise, lower, or move the t readmill. 1. Hold the treadmill with your hands in the locations shown at the right.
15 HOW TO LOWER THE TREADMILL FOR USE 1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand as shown. Using your left thumb, press the storage latch and hold it. Pivot the treadmill until the frame and foot rail are past the storage latch. 2. Hold the treadmill firmly with both hands, and lower the treadmill to the floor.
16 MAINTENANCE AND TROUBLESHOOTING Most treadmill problems can be solved by following the steps below. Find the symptom that applies, and follow the steps listed. If further assistance is needed, please call our Customer Service Department. PROBLEM: The power does not turn on SOLUTION: a.
17 PROBLEM: The walking belt slows when walked on S OLUTION: a . If an extension cord is needed, use only a 3-conductor, 1mm 2 ( 14-gauge) cord that is no longer than 1.5 m (5 ft.). b. If the walking belt is overtightened, treadmill perfor- mance may decrease and the walking belt may be- come damaged.
18 CONDITIONING GUIDELINES The following guidelines will help you to plan your ex- ercise program. For more detailed exercise informa- tion, obtain a reputable book or consult your physician.
19 EXERCISE FREQUENCY T o maintain or improve your condition, complete three workouts each week, with at least one day of rest be- tween workouts. After a few months, you may com- plete up to five workouts each week if desired. The key t o success is to make exercise a regular and enjoyable part of your everyday life.
