B-2 Installing the warming rack Y ou will need: warming rack. Set the warming rack into the slots at the rear of the cooking bo x. Installing the W arm-Up™ Basket Y ou will need: W ar m-Up Basket In.
C-1 Check that all b urner valves are off Y ou will need: burner control knobs. V alves are shipped in the OFF position, but y ou should check to be sure that the y are tur ned OFF . Put the knob on each v alve . Check by pushing do wn and turning clockwise.

C-4 (1) (2) Connect filled liquid propane c ylinder m W ARNING: Make sure that the c ylinder valve is closed. Close by turning c lockwise. Remov e plastic dust cov er from the fuel cylinder valv e. Screw the regulator coupling onto the tank v alve(1), clockwise , or to the right.
C-5 Check f or gas leaks m W ARNING: The gas connections of your W eber gas barbecue have been factory tested. We do howe ver recommend that you leak chec k all gas connections before operating y our Weber gas barbecue. m W ARNING: Perf orm these leak checks e ven if y our barbecue was dealer or store assembled.
C-6 Reinstall control panel (after c hecking f or gas leaks) (1) Set the control panel in place ov er both sides of the frame. Hold the crossov er ignition button up while setting the control panel in place. (2) Line up the control panel with the white plastic plugs in the frame brace .

D-3 Lighting the Side Burner The side burner has a separate ignition system from the main cooking bo x. m D ANGER F ailure to open the lid while igniting the side burner , or not waiting 5 min utes to allow the gas to clear if the side b urner does not light, may result in an e xplosive flame-up which can cause serious bodily injury or death.
D-4 Cooking m W ARNING: Do not move the Weber Gas Barbe- cue when operating or while barbecue is hot. Y ou can adjust the FRONT and BA CK burners as desired. The control settings: High (H), Medium (M), Low (L), or Off (O) are described in your Weber cookbook.
D-5 Using the S moke r B o x The Smoker cooks with both Weber Firespice™ Wood Chips and Chunks. For best results with f aster cooking f oods like steaks , burgers and chops, etc., w e recom- mend using the FireSpice Chips because they ignite and create smoke f aster .
D-6 Refilling the Liquid Pr o- pane Cylinder W e recommend that you refill the LP cylinder bef ore it is completely empty . Remov al of the LP cylinder 1) Close cylinder v alv e (turn clockwise). 2) Unscrew regulator coupling b y tur ning counter- clockwise , by hand only .
D-7 7) Check f or leaks by wetting the fitting with the soap and water solution and w atching for b ubbles. If bubb les form, or if a bub ble grows , there is a leak. If there is a leak, tur n off the gas and tighten the fitting. T urn the gas back on and recheck with the soap and water solution.
D-8 Safe handling tips f or Liquid Pr opane Gas Cyl- inder s ■ Liquid Propane (LP) gas is a petroleum product as are gasoline and natural gas . LP gas is a gas at regular temperatures and pressures . Under moderate pressure, inside a cylinder , LP gas is a liquid.
D-9 Inspection and Cleaning of the Weber Spider Stopper™ Guards T o inspect the Spider Stopper Guards, remo ve the control panel and look to see if the y hav e dust or dir t on their outside surf aces. If they are dir ty , brush off the outside surf ace of the Spider Stopper Guards with a soft bristle br ush (an old toothbrush for e xample).
D-10 General Maintenance Weber Spider Stopper™ Guards Y our W eber Gas Barbecue, as well as any outdoor gas appliance, is a target f or spiders and other insects. They can nest in the v entur i section (V enturi(1), air shutter(2), venturi fin(3) ) of the b ur ner tubes.
D-11 (1) (1) (1) (2) (1) Replacing Main Burners 1) Y our W eber Gas Barbecue must be OFF and cool. 2) T urn gas OFF at source. 3) T o remov e control panel: take off the b ur ner control knobs. Remov e the screws holding the control panel in place. Lift off the control panel.
D-12 Cr ossover® Ignition System Operations If the Crossov er Ignition System fails to ignite the Left burner , light the Left burner with a match. If the Left burner lights with a match, then check the Crosso v er Ignition System. ■ Check that both the white(1) and b lack(2) ignition wires are attached properly .
D-13 T r oub leshooting Pr oblem Check Cure Burners b urn with a yello w or orange flame, in conjunction with the smell of gas. Inspect Weber Spider Stopper Guards f or possib le obstructions. (Blockage of holes .) Clean Weber Spider Stopper Guards. (See Section “Annual Maintenance”) Burners do not light.
D-14 Side Burner T r oubleshooting Pr oblem Check Cure Side Burner does not light. Flame is low in HIGH position. Flame is very yellow in conjunction with the smell of gas, OR Burner makes popping noise in conjunction with the smell of gas. Push button ignition does not work.
