3 Introduction The Mod el 960 c ontrol provides so phisti cated , demand-ba sed wa ter cond itioning by incorp orating a micr oproce ssor and a water mete r to electr onically monitor t he amount o f water used dai ly .

7 5. Add water to the brine ta nk (init ial fill). W ith a bucket or ho se, add appr oximately 4 gal lo ns (15 lite rs) of w ater to th e brine tank. I f the tank ha s a salt platf orm above the bottom of the tank, add water un til the leve l is appr oximately 1 inch (25 mm) above the pla t form.

Othe r paramete rs have du al units such a s Salt Amount which can be entered in p ounds or kilog rams. T o selec t which u n its ar e active, look for a comment in the NOTES c olumn of T ables 1 and 3 .

10 Level II Parameters (Table 3) The Leve l II Par ameters are P6 through P19 in T abl e 3. The Operat ion and Main tena nce Manual for th is product does not mention th ese pa rameters , so the end us er does not normal ly have acc ess to these values .

12 Brine Draw Value Paramete r P7 is use d by the c ontrol to calc ulate the brine draw time. The defaul t va lue of 25 wa s sele cted for a “B” in jector with low water pressur e or an “A” injec tor with mod erate water p ressur e. If this does n ot match yo ur inst allati on, press the SET button an d enter a new v alue.
13 Automatic Rege neration There a re two wa ys to h ave th e control automa ticall y start a rege n eratio n : calend ar ov erride or having the control monitor the water us age. Calendar ov erride This feature is set in Parameter P14. It can be set for one to 30 day s.
14 Service Removing the Control Comple te the follow ing steps to r emove the con t r ol module f or servicing: 1. Un plug the wa ll-mo unt trans forme r . 2. Shut off the water suppl y or put th e bypass v alve( s) into by pass po sition . 3. Remove th e rea r cover by pus hing back on t he tab pr ovided on the cover , Fig ure 10 .

16 4. Remove the meter ada pter . Be ca reful not to misplac e any of the O-rings. 5. Use a ne edle-nose pliers to grasp one of t he four vanes of the gland, Figu re 18, and pull straig ht out to remove th e gland f rom the ad apter . Figure 18 6. 25 T roubleshooting Alarm s The Mode l 960 conti nuously moni tors its elf and sou nds an alarm i f it detects somethi ng wrong. The a larm is a beep that is on for on e second and then off for nine second s. When the alar m sou nds, the disp lay shows the le tters “ Err” w ith a numbe r from 1 t o 4.
