When you click Aut o Scan, the scanner analyz es the image and adjusts th e settings to produce the opt imal image.

F or example, letters and memos ar e usua lly scanned in black and white. Select G rayscale to scan items such as documents c ontaining drawin gs or black a nd white photogr aphs.
34 V ISIONEER O NE T OUCH 9220 USB S CANNER I NSTALLATION G UIDE the size of the photo. When AutoCrop is selected, t he scanner makes two passes—the first to sense the item ’ s size, and the second to scan th e imag e. This op tion overrides the Page Size selecti on.
C ONFIG URING THE B UTTONS 35 A DJUSTI NG S CAN S ET TIN GS AND P AGE S ETTINGS When scanning using a configuratio n you crea ted yourself, y ou can adjust scan settings and page settings. F or example, if the scanned image is to o dark, you ca n adjust th e brightness of the scan sett ing.

A DJUS TING THE S ETTINGS IN THE S CAN M ANAGER P RO 47 A DJUSTI NG O UTPUT S IZE The item you ’ re scanning may not fill the scanner glass. In that case you can previ e w the item and use the A uto T rim option to automatically eliminate the unwante d sections of the image.

F or example, if you want the scan t o include a bor der around the image, you can drag the dotted line to be slightly lar ger than t he autot rim med area.
