1. Introduc tion Congratu l ations on y our choice of the V eriFone ® TRANZ ® 460 t ransaction terminal. The TRANZ 460 terminal has many outstanding feat ures that will enable you and your m erchants to perf orm your j obs fas ter and easier .
Int egra l Prin ter The TRANZ 460 terminal supports an integr al roll printer for print i ng receipts and reports. This applicat ion allows you to program a unique merchant header of up to six lines for y our receipts. A ppendi x A provides printer details as well as sample receipt s and r eports.
2. Feature s and Tra nsactions Summa ry New Fe atures Following is a list of new f eatures that have been added to the FDC Retail/Debit Purc hasing Card application. The application runs on a TRANZ 460 term i nal. ★ All receipts and r eports are modified to conf orm to the TRANZ 4 60 terminal’s 24-column form at .
• You can select Debit functionality in the Setup funct ion. • Two PINpad devices are available to support Debit funct i ons. • You can enable split dial f or the AMEX and D i scover hosts in setup. • The Auto Close option i n Setup enabl es the terminal to automat icall y per- form the Close transaction and print reports .

3. TRANZ 460 Termina l The TRANZ 460 terminal is an authorizat ion and electronic t r ansaction terminal that performs Point - O f- S al e (POS) credit and debit authorizations. It features the convenience of an integr al roll printer for printing t ransaction receipts and r eports.

Ins talla tion This appli cation can operate i n ei ther of two configurations, both using a single telephone line. O ne configuration cons ists of a T RANZ 460 terminal and a standard telephone sharing the s ame telephone li ne. The other configuration suppor t s up to five term i nals per phone line, using a mu l ti-lane traf fic contro ller .

Note: In a s i ngle term i nal c onfigurati on, the printer and terminal connec t separately to the DVM, each using its own cable. In a multi-lane configuration, the printer and terminal connect to the M TC via one "Smar t" Y cable.
Hard ware Fea tures Disp lay Pane l The 16-character alphanumeric di s pl a y panel provides the visual prompt s and information needed to operate the TRANZ 460. This bright bl ue, vacuum fluorescent display is easy to read, even under poor lighting conditions.

Note: FDC T RANZ software has been designed with ten unique S etup codes: BLUE + 4 + Codes 0 through 9. You s houl d a l ways use the Setup functions t o enter data in the various fields. Use t hi s alternat e programm i ng procedure only f or entering data in other u ni que fields such as Fraud Control.
"Em ptying " a Fie ld Y ou can easily delete data prev iously entered in a m emory location in the TRANZ terminal. 1. Press [CLE AR], [ BLUE] and [7]. 2. Key in the field you wish t o delete. The terminal displays the cont ents already stored in that field.

6. Standard Key Ope rations Retail transact ions are common, unprotected t ransactions t hat all personnel can perform . These transact i ons include Sale, Return, Debit Sale and Re- turn, V oid, Ticket O nl y , I nquiry, and Close B atch. The TRANZ 460 idle prompt, "nnn" indicates s paces left for storage of trans- actions .

Appendi x B. P INpad 101 De vice Int roduc tio n The PINpad 101 dat a entry device accept s sper sonal identification numbers (PINs) for Debit card transact i ons. The PINpad 101 device uses a master key and a work i ng key to encrypt the PIN input. T ypicall y , a PIN is a 4- t o 12-digit code known only by the custom er and t he bank.
Key pad The keypad’s 12 keys are used for PIN and data entry and m anual diagnostics. Please see t he PINpad 101 Ref erence Manual, Part Number 10420, for further det ail s on diagnostic procedures and pr ogramming.
Unpa cking Carefu l ly inspect the sh i pping carton and its content for shipping damage. If the PINpad device was damaged during shipment, immediately file a claim with the shipping com pany and notify V er i Fone, Inc. War ni ng: Do not use the P INpad unit if it has been damaged.
