Whenever possible, use 45 ° elbows instead of 90 ° elbows. The 45 ° elbow offers less restriction to the flow of the flue gases and intake air .

25 106497 OWNER’S MANUAL OPERA TING GUIDELINES AND MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS When lit for the first time, the appliance may emit a slight odor for about 16 - 24 hours. This is normal and is due to the “curing” of the logs and the “burn-in” of internal paints and lubricants used in the manufacturing process.

28 106497 DIRECT -VENT FIREPLACE ® PILOT AND BURNERS • Remove ember material before cleaning burners and replace when cleaning is complete. • Burner and controls should be cleaned with compressed air to remove dust, dirt, or lint. • Use a vacuum cleaner or small, soft bristled brush to remove excess dust, dirt, or lint.
29 106497 OWNER’S MANUAL BEFORE YOU BEGIN The conversion parts are packaged with the fireplace. Please check the contents before beginning this conversion. Each model in- cludes a brass main burner orifice and a smaller sized pilot orifice (see Figure 60).
