W elcome Congratulations on your purchase of the Uniden DSS7805WP acces- sory waterproof handset and charger . Y ou can place this fully featured cordless handset anywhere your home has AC power even outside by the pool! Notes: Illustrations in this manual are used for explanation purposes.
T erminology Used in this Manual Base The main part of the phone that connects to your phone line and lets you make and receive calls. Charger A cradle that charges an accessory handset. It connects to power but not to a phone line. Accessory Handset A handset that works with an expandable phone base.
Installing the Accessory Handset Checking the Package Contents Make sure your package contains the following items. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your place of purchase. Activate the handset The handset is powered by a rechargeable battery pack already installed in the handset’s battery compartment.
Charging the Accessory Handset The handset is powered by a rechargeable battery pack that automati- cally recharges when the handset is placed in the charger . Unlike your typical household phone chargers, your new waterproof accessory handset uses an enclosed charging method called magnetic inductive charging.
Registering the Handset Y ou must register the handset to the base before you can use it. Only one handset can be registered at a time. (If an accessory handset has previously been registered to a base, you must reset the handset before you can register it to a new base.

Replace the rechargeable handset battery pack 1. Remove the 4 screws holding the battery compartment with a screwdriver and take off the battery cover . Remove the old battery pack in the battery compartment. 2. Plug the replacement battery connector (red & black wires) into the small, black jack inside the battery compartment.
Notes: If there is any foreign matter on the rubber seal located on the under side of the battery cover , the handset may not be water resistant. The rubber seal should be kept clean and replaced every 2 years to ensure the handset is water resistant even if the seal does not look worn.
Resetting the Handset without the Base If the original base this handset was registered to is not available for some reason (for example, it is lost or somehow incapacitated), you can still reset the handset and use it with another base. 1. Press and hold [] and [#] for more than 5 seconds, until the SYSTEM RESET menu appears.

Reading the Display The handset display uses icons to tell you the status of your phone. The table below lists the icons and what they mean. ICON ST A TUS DESCRIPTION T alk The talk icon appears while on a call. T alk The privacy icon appears when Privacy mode is turned on.
Using the Four-way Function Key Y our handset has a four- way function key that allows you to move the cursor (or highlighted area) on the display and access the most commonly used features at the touch of a button. By moving this key to the left, you open the Phonebook.
If two letters in a row use the same number key , enter the rst letter , then use [right] or [left] on the four-way function key to move the cursor to the next position to enter the second letter . For example, to enter “Movies”: 1. Press [6] once to enter M.

Using Caller ID and Call W aiting Y ou can store up to 100 Caller ID numbers in your handset. Y our phone shares a total of 100 memory entries between your Phonebook and Caller ID. Once you store 100 phonebook names, Caller ID information can not be stored (but it will still display when the call comes in).
Using the Phonebook Y our phone allows you to store up to 2 numbers per name and up to 100 names in your phonebook. Y our phone shares a total of 100 memory entries between your phonebook and CID. Once you store 100 phonebook entries, CID information will not be stored and will only display at time of new incoming calls.
Delete all entries Close the phonebook Redialing a Number Y ou can quickly redial the last 3 numbers dialed on the handset. 1. With the phone in standby , press [redial/pause] or the REDIAL soft key to open the redial list. 2. Use [ ] and [ ] to scroll through the redial list.
Using Hold, Conference, T ransfer and Intercom Put a call on hold Join a call in progress T ransfer a call Cancel a transfer Accept a transferred call Make an intercom page Cancel a page Answer an intercom page Press [int’com/hold]. If you leave a caller on hold for more than ve minutes, the call will be disconnected.
Accessing Y our Answering Machine If your base has an answering machine, you can use your handset to get your messages and change your answering machine setup. T o ac- cess the answering machine, press the soft key . The answering machine announces the number of new and old messages and then waits for your next command.
Screening Calls Y ou can listen to callers who leave a message. Press the SCREEN soft key when the system is answering to listen to the caller without answering the phone. Accessing V oicemail If you subscribe to a voice mail service, you can program your access number into your handset and access your voice mail at the touch of a button.
Battery Replacement and Handling With normal usage, your battery should last about one year . When the talk time becomes short, even after the battery is recharged, please replace the battery .
