2 Comp atible Bases This handset is compatible with Uniden's 2.4 GHz Digital Expandable phone system: th e DCT736/DCT738 series, the DCT746/DCT748 series, the DCT 756/DCT758 series, the DMX776/778 series, and the DCT6 46/DCT648 series. Visit www .
3 Charging the Accessory Hand set The handset is powered by a rechargeable battery pack that automatically recharges when the handset is placed in the charger . 1. Connect the AC adapter to the DC IN 9V jack and to a 120V AC outlet that is not controlled by a wall switch.
4 For DCT73 and DCT75 Series Bases (DCT736, DCT738, DCT7 56, DCT7565, DCT758, DCT7 585) T o register to a DCT73 or DCT75 series b ase, place the accessory handset in the base. While the handset is registering, HANDSET REGISTERING appears in the LCD. When REGISTRA TION COMPLETE is displayed, the handset has been registere d to the base.
5 Resetting the Handset If you want to register the handset to a different base or replace a handse t with another o ne, yo u must first clear the registration information from the base and the handse t. 1. Press and hold [] and [#/ ] for at least 5 seconds, until the SYSTEM RESET menu appears.

7 Reading the Display The handset display uses icons to tell you the status of your phone. The table below lists the icons and what they mean. The St andby Screen When the phone is in standby , the di.
8 T o use this four-way key , place your thumb over the key on the handset and move to the fo ur positions to get the feel of how it moves and ope rates. Using the Handset Menus T o open the menu, press [menu/clear] . Select the option you want by pressing the four-way fu nction key .
9 Using Call W aiting If you subscribe to call waiting, a tone sounds if a ca ll comes in when you are on th e phone. If you subscribe to Ca ller ID on call waiting, the Caller ID info rmation of the waiting call appears on the disp lay . Press [ /flash] on the handset to accept the waiting call.
10 Press [] to enter the ph onebook. Once in the p honebook, you have the following opti ons: Adjusting the V olume Scroll through the entries T o scr oll through the phonebook from A to Z, press [] . T o scr oll through the phonebook from Z to A press [] .
11 Hold, Conference, T ransfer , and Intercom Muting the Ringer (One Call Only) While the handse t is ringing, press [] to mute the ringer for this call. The phone will ring aga in on the next call. (The handset must be off the cradle to mute the ringer .
12 Muting the Microphone T o mute the microphone so the caller can 't hear you, press [menu/clear] . Move the cursor to select MUTE and then press [select/ ] . MUTE ON and appear in the display . Repeat the procedure to cancel muti ng. Privacy Mode T o prevent other st ations from interrupting a ca ll, press [menu/clear] .
13 Screening Calls If your base has an answering machine, you can listen to callers as they leave a message. Press [select/ ] when the system is answering to listen to the calle r without answering the phone. Accessing V oicemail If you subscribe to a voice mail service, you can program your handset to automatically dial the access number .
14 4. Enter your access number (up to 20 digits). If you need the phone to wait before sending the next digits, press [redial/pa use] to insert a two-second pause. For a longer pause, press [redial/pause] multiple times. Each pause counts as one digit.
