10 Basic Opera tion ︱ Charging the Battery Plug t he small e nd o f the US B c able i nto the M ini USB port on the Digit al M usic Pla yer , and p lug the large e nd of the cable into a n available U SB port on y our desktop or notebook com p uter .

13 MUS IC Mode ︱ Before bu yi ng DRM (Digi t al Ri ght s M anage me nt) protected m usi c onl ine, please be advis ed that the MP650 only support s WMA-DRM10 fil e protec ti on. Playin g MP3, W MA , or WM A-DRM 10 Musi c 1. Press and hold the button to power ON the Digi t al Music Play er.
14 2. Select either “ M y Playlist ” or an imp orted playlist f il e (if available) and pres s . 3. Use t he and buttons to mov e up an d down the li st of availabl e songs. Press o r to play th e hi ghlighted song. W hen t he song ends, th e rest of t he f iles in the playlist will th en be play ed.

18 RECORD M ode ︱ The MP650 can r ecord f rom 2 dif ferent sources: the FM Ra dio or the built-in micropho ne. The RE CORD mode is f or creati ng vo ic e recordings and playing back both FM a nd voice re cordin gs. T o record f rom the FM Radio , please s ee the previous s ection on “ R ecordi ng the Radio .

22 Record Settings Record Quality The quality of a n au dio rec ording c an be s et t o Low (8,0 00Hz) , M edium ( 16 ,000Hz) , or H i gh ( 32 , 000Hz ). Higher recordi ng quality setti ngs require m ore mem ory sp a ce to s ave the record ed W A V files.
23 VAD (Voice Activity Detection) V AD allows the M P6 50 to mak e gapl ess v oice r ecordin gs. T his m eans during voice r ecording with the intern al microphone, the play er will only record when it detect s vo ic es.

27 Mu sic T ransfe r Pr oto col (M T P) If y ou own W MA-DR M 10 music f iles o r i f you want to use W indows M edia P l ayer 10 to synchr onize mu sic between your com puter a nd the Digit a l M usic Player , the Music T ra nsfer Pr otocol (MTP) must be enabled.

29 Connectin g to a C omputer ︱ If you a re using Windows M edia Player 10 a nd want to pl ay W MA -DRM 10 music f iles, you mus t set the Digit al Musi c Player ’ s Music T ransfer Mode to MTP to transfer and sy nchronize musi c files betw een the c ompu ter and your MP650.
