Chapter 3 Quick Setup G uide Static IP - Thi s type of connection uses a permanent, fixed (static) IP address that your ISP assigned. I n this typ e, you should f ill in the IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, and DNS IP address manually, which are specified by your ISP.

Chapter 4 Status Tab Chapter 4 Status T ab Th e S tatus tab displays a summary of the link status info rmation, curren t values of the basic configuration settings (depen ding on the operating mo de), network s etti ngs and information, a nd traffic stat istics.
Chapter 4 Status Tab Status Informatio n Device In formation Devic e i nf or mat i on di splays the customizable name , model, firmware version, system time, u ptime, CP U and memory of the device. Wireless S ettings Wireless settings display the relative wireless parameters of t he cur rent d ev ice .
Chapter 4 Status Tab Max TX Rate Displa ys the dat a rate at which the devic e should tr ansmit wireless p ackets. Tran smit Powe r Displa ys the current tr ans mit power of the devi ce. Dista nce Displa ys the wireless cov erage distance where the c lient devices can be plac ed from the AP to get good wir eless performance .
Chapter 4 Status Tab AP Displa ys whether the AP funct ion is Enab led or Di sabled. I t is enabled in Acc ess Point, Re peater, Bridge , AP Router and AP Cl ien t Router modes and disab led in Client mode by de fault . MAC Add ress Displa ys the MAC address of AP inter face or cli ent int erface .
Chapter 4 Status Tab RX Rate Displa ys the d ata ra te at w hic h the device receiv es wireless pac kets. Conne ctio n Time Displa ys the amou nt of time the device ha s been con nected to the root AP . LAN I t displays the relative LAN parameters of the cur rent device .
Chapter 4 Status Tab Subnet Mask Displa ys the Subn et Mask of the W AN . Default Gateway Displa ys t he default gateway. DNS Server D ispla ys t he cu rrent DNS IP address . Monitor T he monitor displays the data changes of t hroughput, S tati ons, Interfaces, ARP table, Routes , DHCP Cl ien ts and D ynamic WAN of the device.
Chapter 4 Status Tab SNR (dB) Signal t o Noise Ratio , the power ratio betw een the rece ived wi reless signal stren gth a nd the environme ntal nois e st reng th . Generally, i n order to a chieve the bes t perf or mance, user s need to ad j ust th e antenna to get t he best SNR.
Chapter 4 Status Tab ARP table Lists all the entries of the A ddress Resolution Protoco l (ARP) table curre ntly recorded on the device. ARP i s used to ass ociate each IP address to the unique hardware MAC add ress of each device on the netwo rk.

I f your ISP binds the MAC addr ess of your previ ous comp uter/rout er, please ent er the c orrect MAC address into this field. The format for the MAC Address is XX - XX - XX - XX - XX - XX ( X is any hex adecimal digit ).

Reserved I P addresses could be assigned to ser vers that requ ire permanent IP settings.

Ping Ping test fu nction is used to test the connectiv ity and reac hability between the device and the target host so as to locate the net work m alfunctio ns.
