THE NEW W ORLD OF ANTI-THEFT T ECHNOLOGY This Scion vehicl e may be equipped with an electr onic “immobilizer” anti-theft system. When the k ey is inserted into the ignition swit ch it transmits an el ectr onic code to an immobilizer computer . The engine will only s tart if the code in the k ey matches the code in the immobilizer .
REPLACING THE KEY Upon pur chase, each vehicl e should have two master k eys, one valet k ey and an aluminum tag with a k ey-code imprinted on it. T o generat e a fully functional r eplacement k ey (one that will both open the doors and st art the engine), one of the master k eys is requir ed.
I f for some r eason your ride doesn’t go, and your Scion must be k ept overnight f or warranty-cover ed r epairs, you ar e eligible f or transportation as sistance fr om Scion.
