Disc and deck information for either CD and MD are shown by pr essing either the CD button or the MD button, and the deck selected becomes the display master .

T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII 21 MD Operation Section l EDIT button During normal operation, Menu mode and Title Input mode, press this butt on to enter MD Edit mode. Refer to “M iniDisc editing” on page 40. When this button is pressed during MD Edit mode , the unit returns to normal operation mode .
22 T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII 5 – Display Mast er and Remote C ontr ol Master The MD-CD1MKIII is equipped with a CD deck and an MD deck. Since the display and remote con trol buttons can be used by either deck, this function determines which deck is represent ed by their operation.

Remote control oper ation: Press the MENU button and either the CD Menu or the MD Menu is called up , depending up on the position of the CD/MD selector .

T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII 29 T urning the Auto Ready function on and off Pr ess the AUTO READY button on the r emote control to turn the function of display master on and off . Y ou can also use the A_READY ? option on the PLA Y sub-menu of the MD menu or CD menu to turn the Auto Ready function on and off for each deck .
30 T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKII I Pitch c ontrol ( CD only) When playing back an audio CD , the pitch (or speed) of the playback can be varied. P itch can be varied –50% to +16% for CD .
T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII 31 Deleting a programmed tr ack 1 During STOP mode , use the skip button to selec t the track for deletion. The track number will be shown in the displa y. 2 Press the DEL/CLR button. NO TE Right after STO P , if the D E L /C LR button is pressed, the last track progr ammed will be deleted.
32 T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII T ime display switching During MD or audio CD playback (or playback standby), when the TIME button on either the front panel or the remote con trol is pressed, the time display will switch through sever al modes in the following order .
T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MKIII 33 (Default setting: 3 seconds). F ADE MODE The deck can be set to continue pla yback (“Play ”) or enter playback standb y mode (“R eady ”) after fadeout is completed. 2 In stop mode or playback standby mode , press the F ADER button on the remote contr ol.

Basic dubbing operation F irst, load the CD to be used as the dubbing source into the CD deck, then inser t a recordable MiniDisc into the MD deck.
36 T ASCAM MD - CD 1 MK III 9 – MD rec ording fr om an external sour ce The MD-CD1MKIII can not only dub from CD to MD , it also allows MD rec ording from other sound sources . Basic rec ording Set the recording mode and select the input source . While monitoring the input signal, adjust the r ecording level.

Before f ollowing the procedure below , make sure that basic recor ding preparations have been complet ed, a recor dable disc is inser ted, and the deck is in stop mode.
