This exciting de vice allows you to record yourself and friends, and to b uild up a multitrack recording and mix do wn to a ste reo mix, add ing ef fects such as re verb and delay , just like a professional recording studio.
1 – Welcome 4 TASCAM Pockets tudio 5 Getting St arted Powering up the Pocketstudio 5 The Pocketstudio 5 h as two methods of recei ving po wer: from six dry-cell batteries, or from the sup- plied A C adaptor . The on/of f switch is loca ted on the “rear panel”, together with the A C adapto r input, the USB jack and the MIDI IN jack.

2 – About multitrack recording 6 TASCAM Pockets tudio 5 Getting St arted In a recording studio, the usual mixdow n dev ice is an analog or digital stereo ta pe recorder (or sometimes a CD recorder). On the Pocketstudio 5, the mix is made to an MP3 file inside the Pocketstudio 5 itself.

The PLA Y ke y lights when playback is taking place. Stopping Pressing ST OP stops playback or recording (note that there is no pause function).

NO TE Audio data is saved every ti me you stop reco rding. This is shown by the RECORD key flashing after recording has stopped, and the display showing a flashing aster- isk.

6 – Managing songs and data on your Pocketstudio 5 24 TASCAM Pocketstudio 5 Getting Started Using CF cards The 32 MB card which is supplied with your Pocket- studio 5 allo ws you to record up to 10 minutes of 4- track material (as well as allowing you to produce the stereo mix for these tracks).
