The shields for all shielded cables must be terminated on both ends. Caution – Y ou must use shielded cables for all ports to satisfy EMI compliance standards.

These connectors can be used to connect additional disk packs, or to cr eate redundancy between two AR TM-HDs and their associated blade servers. When connecting the AR TM-HD to an external disk array , use the Primary SAS port connector .

Carefully align the top and bottom edges of the module with the guides in the appropriate slot. It might be helpful to look into the enclosure to verify correct alignment of the rails in the guides.

Chapter 2 Installation and Ser vice 2-9 2.3 Removing the AR TM-HD Caution – Power to the AR TM-HD must be of f before the module can be safely removed. Removing the AR TM-HD without properly removing power can cause data loss on hard disk drives installed in the AR TM-HD.

Chapter 2 Installation and Ser vice 2-11 2.4 Installing a Har d Disk Drive 1. Open the HD latch by pressing the button on the face of the drive. 2. Insert the drive into the appropriate drive bay until the latch closes and the drive fully engages with the connectors.

Setting the jumper to the P1/P2 position makes the OOS LED appear red.
