Studer Innotec 14 QUICK ST ART GUID E The remote control RCC gives you access to a many settings pos sibil ities. H oweve r, in most case s the setting of two parameters is required fo r the perfect running of your installation. A DJUSTMENT OF THE LANGUAGE To begin, set your remote control RCC for a display of the information in English.
RCC 15 You can now adapt your installatio n to the source which it is connected to. Max. current of the AC sour ce ( power-sharing) {1107}. In case of using the Xtender on a publ ic grid, it is actually the value of the circuit breaker on the source si d e (fuse or breaker).

Studer Innotec 22 INFORM ATION O N TH E OPERAT IN G MOD E OF T H E INSTALL AT ION There are two different v iews for displa ying information on the syst em : A simplified and a configurable display. When one of these two displays is visible, it is possible to acti vate or dea cti vate th e sy st em.
RCC 23 The following information is avail able: With regard to the grid input • AC In input voltage • AC In input current • AC In input power • Input frequency • Energy from AC-In of the pre.
Studer Innotec 24 EVENT HISTORY This screen allows you to vi ew th e vari ous even ts tha t have occurred in t he installat ion. The events that occur in your inst allation are di splayed on the remote control screen.
RCC 25 E RROR I NCORRECT INPUT FREQUENCY The voltage at AC IN d oes not have a frequency includ ed in the admi ssible range for th e Xtender. Solution: When opera ting on a generator, check i ts speed. If you are n ot equiped to measure the gen erator fr equency, meas ure its voltage with no load.
Studer Innotec 26 The voltage ripple on the batteries may be caused by thei r ageing. In this case, lower the charge current. M ESSAGE P OWER SHARING EXCE E DED ; TRANSFER PROHIBITED The power output of the consumers exceeds the one specified for the source, and the t ransfer relay can not be a c tivated .
RCC 27 ADJUSTMENT OF THE COMBI XTENDE R G ENERAL The Xtender inverter/c harger has been designed to ensure that all basic fun ctions of an energy management system work completely independe ntly. In its original version, no adju stment is usua lly required.
Studer Innotec 28 According to the user level selected, it is possible t o access several hundred config urations. For this reason, each configuration has a unique ID displ ayed top right. I n the e ve nt o f qu esti ons on the sub jec t of a co nfi gur ati on, ensure that you have this number at hand.
RCC 29 Not e, that if the s mart b oos t f unc tio n is acti vated, it is po ssible to d is cha rge th e battery even if the inve rter function is locked.
Studer Innotec 30 Number of critical battery under-vol tages before final stop {1305} and Leadtime to counting the critical battery under -voltages allowed before final stop {1405} The critical battery under- voltages can also be automatically acknowledged in case of undervoltage disap pearance.
RCC 31 The bulk charge and f loating phases canno t be deactivated. If the conditions for starting a new battery charge cycle have co me together, th e bulk charge phase starts immediately. The battery cycle fi ts a large number of batteries by default, irrespectiv e of whether they are gel batteries or not.
Studer Innotec 32.
RCC 33 Charge current {1138} Use this value in order t o adapt the charge current to the battery . With this configura tion, the maximum current to be used for ch arging y our battery is ad justed. The curren t appropriate for the battery can be fou nd in its technical da ta.
Studer Innotec 34 Absorption phase {1451} During this phase, the battery accumu lates the fi nal percentages of the energy it is s toring. This phase is carried out with a constant volt age. Authorised absorption {1155} This configuration determines whet her or not th e absorpti on phase is used.
RCC 35 Equalization before absorption phase {1291} This configuration determines in the cha rge c ycle, in which equa liza tion will b e ac tivated, if the equalization is carried out after or before the absorption phase. The equalization phas e is carried out b ef o re the a bs o rp tio n ph ase by def aul t.
Studer Innotec 36 End of equalization activated by the current {1168} The equalization phase can be interrupted if th e charge current of t he battery goe s under a cert ain thresh old. This can be use d to limit th e operating period of a genset while keeping an acceptable battery charge.
RCC 37 Level of battery under-voltage at no load {1108} Allows adj ustment of the batt ery’s low voltage level at which the inverter and smart boo st f unc tions ar e d eac tiv ate d. Thi s adjustment is ap plied in the case of a zero charge and is automatically adapted wi th regard to the power required f rom the batteries.
Studer Innotec 38 Delay before passing to inverter {1198} When the in put voltage is below th e transfer v oltage to th e inverter, the transfer relay d oes not open immediately . Wi th this configuration, the period during whic h the transfer r emains drawn ca n be specified.
RCC 39 The auxiliary con tacts respond to vario us signal ty pes presen t ed graphica lly below. The f ol lowi ng typ es o f b asi c ev en ts ma y ac tiv ate the con ta cts: • Simple event • Scheduled event • Level In the followi ng descripti on, each pa rameter ha s two refere nce numb ers.
Studer Innotec 40 Limit the time of activation {1512} {1513} Maximum duration of ac tivation {1 514 } {1515} When the conditions ar e met, ei ther one or two relays are ac tivated perman ently. If you wish tha t the a cti vat io n dur ati on i s lim ited in ti me, even if the conditions are met , you can activate this func tion.
RCC 41 Inverter or smart boost overload {1228} {1336} Activates the contact in the event of an error due to exc essive power in the inverter or the Smart Boost function. In the event tha t the inver ter disconnec ts due to excess power and it is atte mpting to r e sta rt, the con tac t is n ot a cti va t ed u nti l th e en d of the a tt e mp ts.
Studer Innotec 42 The auxiliary contact will only be activated afte r the batte ry exceeds agai n a certain voltage value and also after a duration, both indepe nd ently o f the ac tiv ati on p ara me ters . This voltage and this duration are programmable too.
RCC 43 o Time of end of activa tion {1273} {1382} • Program 2 {1274} {1383} o Days of the week { 1275} { 1384} o Time of start of acti va tion {1276} {1385} o Time of end of activa tion {1277} {1386.
Studer Innotec 44 INFORM ATION O N THE S YSTE M The system inf o rmation allows y o u to check th e versions of the various elemen ts of your instal la tion. R EMOTE CONTROLS You will receive information on the hardware and software versions for each remote control.
RCC 45 UPDATE S The RCC remo te control program as well as the code in the i nverters/ch argers of the X tender series can be updated in order t o integrate new features. For the RCC remote control it is also possibl e to implement new display languages (up to a maximum of 4 on each RCC remo te control).
Studer Innotec 46 APPLICATION EXAMPLES The examples b elow illustrate some imp lementation op tions for current install ations. Useful configurations for these situations are also given.
RCC 47 U SE TO INCREASE THE POWER ON AN EXISTING INSTALLATION Description: The availability of an inv ert e r or a inverter/charge r allows its power to be extended with an Xtender connected in cascade. The m aximum power of the firs t inverter is li mited by the maximu m curren t from the transfer relay of the Xtender.
