11 Turning on for the fir st time Note: Y our tablet does not sup port USB char ging. It is normal for the tablet surface to becom e warm dur ing cha r ging or long per iods of use. T ur ning on for the first time T o turn on your tablet, press and hold the power button until the tablet vibrates.

13 The Home screen Simply enter the text you want to find. T ap the arr ow or Enter key to sear ch the Internet, or tap one of the suggestions, a pplicat ions or files shown in the list. Note: In order to sear ch or browse the Internet, you must be connected to a cellular data (if available) or wireless network.
14 Acer Ring - quick launch Acer Ring allows you to quickly and easily access your favorite applications an d bookmarks. It incorporates a number of us eful tools in a n easy-to-use i nterface. T ap the Ring icon at the bottom of the screen to display Acer Ring.
15 The Home screen The application menu The application menu displays applica tions and widgets available on your table t. Applications are displayed in alphabetic al order . If more applications are available, an outline of the second page will be sh own on the side of the scre en.
16 T ap the notification area to view more status information. Control buttons enable you to tap features on (blue) or off (white). Some event summaries include controls below the main status area, such as media controls if music is playing.

19 The onscreen keyboard Resizing a Widget Most widgets can be made larger , so you ca n give more space to information that is important to you. Afte r placing a Widget on the Home scr een, tap and hold to selec t it. Four diamonds will appear on each si de, tap and drag the diamond until the Widget is the correct size.
20 Changing Android keyboar d settings T o use a different keyboar d language or change settings, tap the Input options key , then select ei ther Input languages or Andr oid keyboard settings . These settings inc lude Auto-correction and keyboard sounds and vibration .
21 Editing text T ext assistance The standard XT9 keyboar d has var ious feat ures that assist you to enter correct text. T o use these featur es, tap the Keyboard status icon; this will open a menu listing the text input methods available on yo ur tablet.
22 1. T ap the text you want to sele ct. If you ca n select this text, a cursor is inserted below the text. Note: The cursor indicates where text yo u type or paste will be inserted. 2. If the cursor is not in the desired position, simply drag it to the correct position.
23 Locking you r tablet Locking your tablet If you will not use you r tablet for a while, briefly press the power button to lock access. This saves power and ensure s your tablet does not unintentionally use any services. Y our tablet will lock automatically if it is not used after a while.

Shutting down your tablet If you won’t use your tablet for an extended period of time, turn it off to save battery power . T o turn off your tablet (even when locked), press and hold the power button for one second.

Inserting a micr oSD car d (optional) Y ou may install a microSD car d to expand your device's storage space. Note: Y our tablet only supports microSD cards that use the F A T or F A T32 file system.
26 Accessing files on a USB storage device Note: Y our tablet supports USB stor age devices that use the F A T , F A T32 or NTFS file systems. Y ou can access media files (photos, music and video) on USB storage devices with your tablet's multimedia apps.
27 Connecting a Bluetooth device After a short delay , your tablet's in ternal memory will be visible as a Port able Device in your PC’ s file explor er . Select the Acer Iconia T ab icon to see your tablet’ s internal memory and any additio nal memory (SD card or USB devices) attached to your tablet.
28 Using a cellular data network (only for Wi-Fi+3G models) ‘3G’, or data over a cellular network, is only available on models equiped with a SIM card slot, or thr ough a separate 3G mode m (not supplied - available from your mobile Internet provide r , check for compatibility).
29 Adjusting conne ction settings Important: Depending on your settings, you may be requir ed to enter your PIN each time you switch on the cellu lar data function. SIM car d lock Y our tablet may come with a SIM car d lock, i.e., you will only be able to use the SIM card pr ovided by your network operator .
30 Disable data when roaming Y ou can prevent your tablet from transmi tting data over other carr iers’ mobile networks when you are traveling and leave an area that is covered by your carrier’ s networks. This is useful for controlling expenses if your mobile data contract doesn’ t include data r oaming.
31 Internet sh aring 1. Plug the micro USB to USB adapter cable into the multi-function connector on your tablet. 2. Plug one end of a USB cable (not included) into the adapter and the other end into an available USB port on your computer .
32 Going online Managing Wi-Fi connections If you did not connect to a Wi-Fi network when you first started your tablet, or want to connect to a new network, tap APPS > Settings > Wi -Fi to manage your connection settings. Alter natively , tap the Wi-Fi status icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
33 Setting up Gmail Y ou may open multiple tabs. When a page is open, pr ess the small tab with a plus sign. Simply tap one of the tabs across th e top of the scre en to switch pages. New tab Pinch to zoom in or out of pages. T ap and hold an it em on a page to open a contextual menu.
34 Setting up the Email application The Email application enables you to acc ess email from most popular email prov iders. Most accou nts can be s et up in two steps. O pen the ap plication menu and then tap Email to start setting up your email access.

Play Music Use Play Music to listen to music and other audio files that you download or copy fr om your computer , usb drive, mas s storage device, etc.

Y ou can view photos found on any of th e connected devic es and save them. After selecting the file or album, tap the Share button to upload a photo to Evernote, Google+, or Picasa.
42 Note: The Acer clear .fi video player only plays MP4 files. Please check for updates to the tablet's software whic h may add support for other types of video. 43 Managing people and contacts Y our tablet features an address book that allows you to save contacts to the internal memory , SIM card or your Google account.
44 Editing a contact If you have opened a new or existing contact, yo u can enter information abou t the contact: Simply tap on a box and type the appropr i ate informa tion. Click on the arro w next to the name entry to see options, such as addi ng a name prefix or phonetic name.
45 Starred contacts Y ou may quickly access your favo r ite contacts by adding a star . First open the contact, then tap the star next to the contact’ s name.
46 Using the camera and camcor der Y our tablet features two digital cameras: a 1-megapixe l front-facing and a 5- megapixel rear -facing camera . This sectio n will take you through all the steps in taking photos and videos with your tablet. 50 Pr inting with the tablet Acer Pr int Acer Print is a pr inting application that prints documents from your tablet. It can connect to a printer in thr ee ways: • Through a home or of fice wireles.
51 Acer Print Once added, tap Printers in the left-hand colu mn to display your printers. Scanning a QR code T o add a pr inter by scanning its QR code, tap Add pri nter then tap QR code . Item Descri ption Auto Automa tically search the connected network for any available printers.
