If it is necessa ry to prepare them in advance, they can be plunge d into co ld water, drained thoroughly and held under refrigerati on until needed for service.

Differences in food quality, size, shape, thickness, freshness, load size, and desired degree of donen ess must be taken into cons ideration and adj ustments made in time, if necessary.

Southbend appliances are sturdily co nst ructed of the best materials and are designed to provide durable service when treated with ordinary care.
C LEANING & M AINTENANCE S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER P ERIODIC D E -L IMING ( AS N EEDED ) If lime or mineral deposits start to buildup on the cavit y interior, they should be removed with a non-caustic de-liming solution such as Lime -A-Way ® .
S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER I NSTALLATION I NSTALLATION CAUTION Do not locate steamer adjacent to any high heat or grea se p roducing piece of equipment, such as a range top, griddle, fryer, etc., that could allo w radiant heat to raise the exterior temperature of the steamer body above 130°F (54°C).
I NSTALLATION S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER S TEP 1: U NPACKING IMMEDIATELY INSPECT FOR SHIPPING DAMAGE All containers should be examined for damage before and during unloading . The freight carrier ha s assumed responsibility for its safe transit a nd delivery.
S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER I NSTALLATION S TEP 2 B : A TTACH TO C OUNTERTOP If the steamer is to be installed on a countertop or other surface without usin g leg s, the steamer must be sealed to the surface to prevent any water, grease, etc., from accumu lating under the steamer.

I NSTALLATION S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER S TEP 5: G AS C ONNECTION The data plate on the front of the base indicates the t ype of gas your steamer is equippe d to burn. DO NO T connect to any other gas type. Keep the appliance area free and clear from combu sti ble su bstances.
S TRATO S TEAM C OUNTERTOP S TEAMER I NSTALLATION S TEP 6: E LECTRICAL C ONNECTION WARNING: THE STEAMER IS PROVIDED WI TH A THREE-PRONG GROUNDING PLUG. T HE OUTLET TO WHICH THIS PLUG IS CONNE CTED MUST BE PROPERLY GROUNDED. IF THE RECEPTACLE IS NOT THE PROP ER GROUNDING TYPE, CONTACT AN ELECTRICIAN.
