5 T erms for discs • Title The longest sections of a picture or a music piece on a DVD; a movie, etc., for a picture piece on a video softwar e; or an album, etc., for a music piece on an audio software. Each title is assigned a title number enabling you to locate the title you want.
6 Pr ecautions On safety • Caution – The use of optical instruments with this product will incr ease eye hazard. • Should any solid object or liquid fall into the cabinet, unplug the system and have it checked by qualified personnel befor e operating it any further .
7 Notes on Discs On handling discs • T o keep the disc clean, handle the disc by its edge. Do not touch the surface. • Do not stick paper or tape on the disc. If there is glue (or a similar substance) on the disc, remove the glue completely befor e using the disc.
8 Getting Started This section describes how to hook up the system to the speakers, a TV monitor with audio/video input jacks and other video component. Y ou cannot connect this system to a TV monitor which does not have a video input connector . Be sure to turn of f the power of each component befor e making the connections.

12 Getting Started AM loop antenna Extend the FM lead antenna horizontally. Connecting other components W ith its built-in amplifier , this speaker system can be used to output audio and video signals directly fr om such components as LD players, MD decks, digital satellite receivers, and VCRs.

However , this system lets you to place the center speaker up to 5 feet closer ( B ) and the r ear speakers up to 15 feet closer ( C ) to the listening position.

25 Playing Discs Customizing Sound Fields By adjusting the surround parameters of the fr ont, r ear and center speakers, you can customize the sound fields to suit your particular listening situations. Once you customize a sound field, the changes are stor ed in memory indefinitely (unless the system is unplugged for about a day).

29 Playing Discs Using the title menu A DVD is divided into long sections of a picture or a music piece called “titles.” When you play a DVD which contains several titles, you can select the title you want using the title menu. 1 Press TITLE on the r emote.
30 Playing Discs Playing VIDEO CDs with PBC Functions (PBC Playback) When playing VIDEO CDs with PBC functions (V er . 2.0 discs), you can enjoy simple interactive operations, operations with search functions, etc. PBC Playback allows you to play VIDEO CDs interactively , following the menu screen on the TV scr een.
